The squad slade inherited was decent enough and a good manager would have delivered more ... Maybe not in terms of position but certainly in terms of playing style.

He inherited an experienced championship side......Experienced operators at this level... Connelly, whitts, Gunnar, pilkington, noone etc would likely perform well and walk into most championship clubs. He had a plethora of youngsters whom he ignored.

He dived back in way to early after leaving us he should of held out until a championship club like Rotherham sacked their manager he could've got that job easily.

People are slagging slade off but only need to look at the whole season to see the club is a wreck and no manager will make it better until owners dissappear?

They also conveniently forget all the crap going on with slashing playing staff! Yes maybe should done better with youngsters ect but not sure if any other manager would have worked under such conditions certainly not pullis! !!!

Allan, once again I agree with you!

As shown in one or two posts above, the usual suspects aren't seeing what's really going on. Slade left Cardiff City FC because he wanted to be a manager rather than become a man without portfolio to a man (Tan) who didn't want to sack him even though he was happy to see his former lackey (Trollope) take his job!

Coventry City are a mess and in the final throes of their existence. Many are calling on them to 'do a Swansea' and take the now 20 point deduction and the (already inevitable) demotion that would follow

It's not something I agree with (I never did when some on here were suggesting Tan did it after Sam's tenure) but in Coventry's position it is pretty much the only option left; and Russell Slade can hardly be blamed for how they got there! :ayatollah:

Reason there fans want to go into administration is they're afraid there owner won't turn up at court to pay hmrc? Which of course could lead to liquidation? But the problems are bigger than that they are around £10m in debt with no one to pay bills as appears owner as bailed out of responsibility, And some thought tan was bad? :occasion5:

yes agree he failed big time in finding 11 to play as a team out of about 40 ? international managers have to manage with what they have ,often far less.

Its all about the manager? a good manager will get the best out of players like Warnock does, thats where Slade failed big time.

Yes and was a failing of his but guess having tan on his back with all cost cutting he wanted done distracted him! :laughing6:

get it right.he likes to PRETEND he is a manager.
this was the 3rd job he has taken in a row where the one certainty was he was not going to get much say.
as long as he can rob a living he has no qualms about sticking his face on the TV and bullshitting the fans .
btw a good guide as to what sort of a manager you have is whether they arive and get on with it {LEAVE FOOTBALL/RESULTS/PERFORMANCES DO THE TALKING } or take every single chance they get to cry about the previous manager..
quote.. the first thing i noticed wwas there were no partnerships in the team { russ} well f**k all changed there did it.

A former-Derby County coach and assistant manager at Mickleover Sports has joined Coventry City alongside new manager Mark Robins.

Steve Taylor, has now been appointed as first team coach at Coventry after the club sacked Russell Slade on Sunday after less than three months in charge of the League One side.

Taylor was Derby County's under-21 coach under Steve McClaren - he worked alongside Lee Glover, but the pair left as part of a reshuffle following the arrival of Paul Clement.

He was also assistant manager with the Rams under George Burley.

The 42-year-old will now be working alongside U21s coach - and former Ram - Lee Carsley.

"I know Lee Carsley from when I coached him at Derby," Taylor told BBC Sport
