It's not sad at all.

Yes he was passionate but I hated his brand of football, the way some players were treated and his behaviour at certain times.

His anti-football brand was never going to sustain us in the EPL. It was painful enough seeing us playing in red but the dire nature of the football was just too much.

Malky has to be given a chance to show he has learned from his mistakes, its sad he isnt getting a chance to show that but in a game where developing youth is paramount using racial and homophobic remarks isnt acceptable. Workplace banter is common place raight enough but he was a Manager... he didnt manage it all to well..

He will always be the man who bought us into a Dream instead of chasing one... its just a shame it had to become a nightmare for all invovllved.

Tan has to forgive before others can forget.

In Malky we ONCE Trusted.

Malky got us promoted granted and for that I'll always remember those good times but that doesn't allow us to be blinkered.....racism against owner and players is unacceptable I'm no saint but I certainly don't talk like malky did in some of those texts.

There's an on going case against him , Moody and agents.

He got us promoted, mixed with the fans, was vocal on the sideline but that doesn't give you a pass to act above the law.

Also lets not forget he landed a managers job after leaving us and got relegated without the funds he had at Cardiff so maybe just maybe there is something in Tans "I got Cardiff promoted"

Which club did Malky actually get relegated ?
Plus when Malky got a new club at Wigan, Tan hounded him.
As to Tan getting us promoted  We should of had many more promotions as the rest of the managers were his yes men.

The point of this topic was that I honestly felt for Malky watching him on to the other night.

I will always respect this man. He worked a miracle at city. Under immense pressure. He delivered the biggest achievement I've known in 25+ yrs as a city fan. VT didn't like the fact he was getting all the recognition so like he always does he goes and throws a spanner in the works. I do feel we now have a better manager ATM tho warnock will get us back up there just needs to be trusted and given the funds

Malky was manager of Wigan when they were relegated from November to April. He ultimately took them down even if he'd been sacked before it was confirmed.

It is sad yes but we all make decisions in our life malky made his, if the current case proves illdoing on his part will you still think it's sad?

I wish him all the best for the future

Re: " Sad to see Malky Mackay "

Thu Feb 23, 2017 3:13 pm

I had the pleasure of meeting Malky a couple of times and he was a breath of fresh air. I can't say I knew him any more than in the context I met him. So I was disappointed to see the things that came out. I do not believe he is a racist. I think he was very immature and unprofessional. He probably deserved to lose his job with us but to have his career ruined? I think that was a bit too much. It was clearly a vendetta from Tan.

Regarding the fraud and back-handers. I believe every manager makes something out of transfers. The clever ones just keep it quiet. Big Sam got caught out because he was stupid. Do you honestly think Big Sam is the only one? It doesn't make it right but it doesn't mean he should be singled out. Particularly when nothing was proven. Whoever was signing off on the transfers should have taken the flak for all that nonsense, not Malky.

I liked Malky as a person when I met him and I respect what he did for the club. Would I want him back here? I don't think so. Not after what has happened. Move on. I said that when we had the bad times with OGS, Trollope, and Slade. I still say it now. I can only wish him all the best for his future. I think if he can re-discover that fire then he will be a top manager for someone one day. You're right though, he does look a shell of the man who was with us.

With this site being split over Malky I am surprised that the Facebook page would not be the same.

One of the players involved who he was supposed to be racist to signed with Malky at Wigan. Do you honestly believe he would of done that if his manager is the monster he is being made out to be. Also to defend him was Campbell and I believe Steven Caulker. It has been a total witch hunt to destroy a man by Tan a thoroughly detestable man.

Wayne,The prob with this forum is that there's prob multis and it's the usual suspects backed up by the names that are new members always backing Tan.

At least on Facebook there are No multies backing Malky :bluebird:

Re: " Sad to see Malky Mackay "

Cause and effect. Had he not been so unprofessional, his life would be totally different. Only he is to blame for the outcome of his career.

People are quick to blame Tan, but clubs don't want to touch Malky due his reputation, which is a result of his, -!; only his actions. Nobody else is responsible.

Re: " Sad to see Malky Mackay "

Thu Feb 23, 2017 4:51 pm

I just never see the logic in people disliking Tan over the rebrand yet worshipped Malky? The man endorsed the rebrand and said it doesn't matter what colour we play in yet OGS was considered a yes man and didn't like the rebrand and told Tan first hand to reverse the decision to get the fans back on board.

Re: " Sad to see Malky Mackay "

He made an error of judgement think of all the good he did with youngsters around Cardiff of all races. Never did I ever think Malky would be mentioned in the same context as Ronnie and reggie kray    only on a football forum. Malky a great man and Cardiff legend for me

Re: " Sad to see Malky Mackay "

Thu Feb 23, 2017 5:05 pm

It's funny Ole,Young, Gabbidon, Slade and Trollope all won nothing and lost many of the fans.

Malky was not a yes man and brought nothing but success to City and the revenue he brought in far far outweighs what he spent :thumbright:

Now we have Warnock not a yes man and is bringing nothing but success to City, will be very very interesting to what happens come May/June??
