Once again the same people who wish Mr Vincent Tan to make the club debt free are the ones asking for money to spend in the summer just how does that work? Do you want a debt free club so you can finally see the back of Mr Tan or do you not really care about seeing the back of him and just want to know the club are spending a few quid on players and being back in the position we were before?

Season ticket revenue means absolutely nothing to a championship club, £300 at 6000 extra is £1.8m that wouldn't even pay the wages of two players you guys are thinking about let alone fund their transfers add to that the loss of £8m in parachute payments and you are dreaming of you think 6000 more season tickets will even realistically see Warnock have £2m to spend on players in the close season

The only way you will see us do that is if we move on all players for fees that earn over £15k a week and bring in sensible but decent players to replace them and notice the BIG IF in that scenario it's not as if we've shifted anyone yet this month what hole have we got of shifting the overpaid deadwood we still have in the summer?

Unless Tan once again decides to gamble fall foul of FFP rules in the process and run up debt again then there is very little chance of anything but one or two signings in the summer

Hate to have to spell it out so simply but too many on here want exactly what they want without any thought or reason behind anything they actually say

Personally I'd rather us keep clearing the deadwood whilst living within our means and slowly add to the core of what we have and seek promotion the right way the sustainable way that won't see us really unbelievably on a wealthy owner or see us go through pain again should we get promoted and fail to stay up again

Finally if you want Tan to spend but also want the debt down you are and incredible hypocrite

Tend to agree with your logic here.

I just question what wages we should pay to remain in the Championship.

So now we need to be a promotion candidate for these precious stay away glory hunters to grace us with their presence? What if the unlikely happens and we do return to the PL, would these same "fans" then want assurances that we will be going for a top 4 CL place before they commit for another season?

The championship is our level and a great division. One in which we have a chance of competing and winning more games than we lose. Unless you're one of the big teams you're just cannon fodder in the PL. Yes it's where the money is, but it all goes on over inflated wages and transfer fees - and all you get for it is a relegation battle.

Fans should stop looking for reasons why they shouldn't go and embrace what we have now. There are no real reasons to stay away.

Health, financial and family life should be the main reasons why people can't follow team? 99.9% of other reasons are just excuses after all its the team we are supposed to be supporting as managers, owners and even players come and go! :old:

Allan, actually spot on there :thumbright: :bluebird: and funny they all afforded the Premier League, even four away games in January, sold three of them out,two games at £50 a ticket.

The shit that comes on here for excuses as why our away support has gone crap is unbelievable.

Allan,
Correct the glory hunters turned up in their thousands, but only stopped as soon as we were relegated.

Thing is, like nearly every other club we have our hardcore supporters who will always turn up, and then have fans who follow the club but will only pay to watch entertaining football or a side battling for promotion. It has always been like that, and I have said plenty of times in the past we probably have at the moment 10,000 or so who will turn up wherever we are in this division, and another 10,000 who will pick and chose depending on our position and the type of football we are playing. If we are in the lower leagues we will lose a lot of the supporters who are regulars at the minte, and it has been the same ever since I started down at Ninian Park 50 years back. The club needs to ensure they are doing the right things to attract the thousands of floating supporters, because we have the potential to almost double our present attendance figures, even in the Championship.

Completely agree with this! Also, As others have said, Investment (not asking for 20 million or something silly) for new quality players and SUCCESS (a really good start to the season) will see the fans return in numbers! I think if fans knew the investment was going to be made a rise in season tickets would happen but also the walk up crowd would rise. A complete estimation by myself but if the club invested in 'a squad to gave a go at promotion' and we kept Neil Warnock next season - for a start I think we would be getting 18-20k ST AND WALK UPS. if after a month or 2 we are doing well - I can see that number rising to 23k. Again a matter of time - if after Xmas we are still doin really well I think the crowd would be around 26k! Finally come March 2018 if we are in the top 4 I think that crowd would be 28K! Premier league crowds - 30-33? K

Why does it has to be the club all the time what about the fans making a statement we are supposed to be supporters i know that season tickets are expensive but if we at the top of the league or in the premier league people would find the money then

Because the club can't survive without fans. Fans can surivive without the club.

I understand where your coming from and I think it's abit of give and take both ways but the trouble is in the past something has been promised and many people renew and the club doesn't meet the promise - or as in how it was originally put. I'm not talking so much about tan here either but it just makes you as a fan abit nervous. On the flip side, it shouldn't matter as we are loyal fans no matter what happens. It's just with Cardiff I think I always think they should be in their rightful place - either challenging at the top of the championship or in the premier league. We are a capital city and have great potential and I believe we should/deserve to be in the PL. some of my friends support much lower league clubs or even league 1 but their view is that their club isn't ever going to be in the big time leagues (although some do make it) but just to see how far they can go In Their current division etc. With Cardiff it's different and I know other fans of some championship clubs could say the same but also IMO there are clubs in the championship that are just not PL clubs. It's difficult to explain it! U til swans went up - I never really saw them as a PL club!

i do understand all the coments but when you look at a club like say portsmouth who were a premier league club for many years yet they still get crowds of 15 to 20 thousand if we GOD forbid ever ended up going back down we would be getting crowds of say 4000 all i'm trying to say is support works both ways

Totally agree, it's so easy for fans to moan saying TAn should put money in push for promotion , but as fans we should show loyalty, put our money in by the way of season tickets to show that our support is there, not just when the team is doing well.
However, our club has always been known for its fickle support.

Like I said above, the club cannot survive without fans, but the fans can survive without the club, as has been proven with the missing thousands compared to a few years back. The club will always have it's hardcore fans, but if it wants those fans who have stopped going, the onus is on the club to provide something that will attract them back to the CCS. These fans have shown that they are not bothered what they do on matchdays, and if the club wants them to change their Saturday routines and watch a game of football instead of whatever they normally do, then the club has to tempt them back with something. The natural solution would be a team going for promotion rather than plodding along at the bottom half of the table. All clubs have their loyal followers, and they all have their fair weather fans. After sitting through the Burton match, I begin to wonder if the stay away fans have more sense than me and my friends.

all fans are fickle. eg leeds 2003/04 36.666 ave two years later 22,355
i dont think our fans deserve the constant knocking tbh
