This is down to the Labour government at the Assembly not the Assembly itself. If you don't like what the assembly is doing vote to change the government.
Can't think of any other country in the world that would discuss getting rid of their parliament and what little power they have and hand power back to their conquerers!!!

Haven't plaid proped labour up with coalition for most of the assembly? Useless politicians, leanne wood is one thick bitch

No, they haven't, actually. Jesus, you are one thick c**t, aren't you?

As for Leanne Wood being 'one thick bitch', well, she deserves credit for coming from where she has (the largely non-Welsh speaking valleys of the south) to being leader of Plaid.

You are correct. We should never want to give up on our own Assembly.

However this current Welsh Assembly are doing such a poor job, wasting vast amounts of money and not representing the best interests of the People of Wales that I would vote tomorrow to remove them.

Brexit has also showed the true colours of our current assembly. Well over 60% of the Welsh people voted to leave the EU. Yet our Assembly put the Welsh people's vote to one side to persue their own agenda.

But you want to, given you started this thread. So you're contradicting yourself

What exactly is the Assembly wasting money on?

As for Brexit, how have they pursued (not 'persue') their own agenda? If you're on about Plaid and Labour (and Kirsty Williams) publishing their alternative plan on Monday, they're just outlining what they think is the best deal for Wales. They're not seeking to overturn the result of the referendum (unfortunately, given the referendum was won on a pack of lies and should never have happened in the first place), much as you conspiracy theorists like to think is happening.

I get fed up and disheartened by the fact that so many Welsh people continually talk down Wales in favour of continual rule by another country. Many countries in the past have fought for their independence from foreign rulers, but Wales, having been given a little bit of power (but not enough to make a real difference) has so many people who wish to give power back. Perhaps there is a link there with low exam results.

I'm not sure which polls had suggested it was going to be a no in Carmarthenshire. I'm not old enough to remember the referendum but I'd have thought it hard to believe that the polls would have suggested such a thing, especially as Carmarthen was the seat where Gwynfor Evans won Plaid Cymru's first in Parliament. It's no surprise they voted yes by such a margin. If it was Pembrokeshire, it'd have been suspicious, yes. But not Carmarthenshire.

There are no plans to scrap the Assembly, thankfully.

The Assembly needs more AMs, yes. There aren't enough backbenchers to properly scrutinise the government. It's laughable to think that a national parliament in 2016 can cope with just 60 members. Utterly laughable.

There must be. It was the same with the referendum. Why the government thought it was a good thing to put it to the people is baffling. Something as big as that should not have been decided on something so simple as a binary vote.

Yes, but Carmarthen was the constituency until they split it into two in 1997. And Plaid have held the Carmarthen East & Dinefwr Westminster seat since 2001, and the Assembly seat since it was created. Welsh nationalism is strong there and has been traditionally.
