Lets really be honest, we need to stop making excuses for ourselves, its starting to look pathetic.

When we were in the Premier League, it did not matter if it was live on tv,night game, early kick off we sold out for virtually every away game and I know, you know and everyone else knows if you really want to go,you will make it,except for personal ties or family reasons etc.

Very very cheap to share cars thats what many many are doing including us :bluebird: :bluebird:

How come virtually every club sells out for their away local derby games, from Non League,to Div 1,2,Championship ect?

How do they know who is in independent?

I went on Carls coach last year and we just rolled up when we wanted, a police motorbike took us in one mile before and the Supporters groups are doing exactly the same this year :thumbright: :thumbright:

Just spoke to Vince, All the Bristol City coaches that came to Cardiff were escorted in, the rest of their fans came by cars, minibuses and train.

Fact is a lot of fathers are tied up Saturday mornings ruling out 12pm kick offs. If that's pathetic sorry.

That fact must be the same for every clubs fans in the Country then

Sorry didn't realise every club in the country had a 12'I clock kick off I must have missed that.

No they don't and as you have seen when most clubs times have changed for derby games, they all still sell out as I have put on here many times.

Bristol Rovers vs Bristol City is their derby.

Only City fans over a certain age see Bristol as a derby game many see Swansea as our derby.

Either way as said you say 'no restrictions" yet:

12 o clock kick off has restricted many

And

Coaches havtto rendezvous with the old Bill.

Not looking to argue I'm just sick of these kinda posts knocking City fans all the time. It's bad enough getting stick from away fans about our "library" Without other City fans clamering to be labelled fan of the year or "I'm a better fan than you"

Bristol City away is a local derby game :thumbright:

Funny when other clubs travel only 30-40 miles it's said on here if only we had a local game like that we would sell out

Ok just take it as another excuse but not by other fans clubs.

I will be straight to the point this game should be a sell out :thumbright:

Newcastle Sunderland. Liverpool Everton none have midday kick offs.

Re: ' COME ON CARDIFF CITY FANS '

Sometimes on here it does come accross like a glass half empty rather than a glass half full.

I would rather say, yes over 2,000 of us are going to Bristol City rather than focus on not selling every last ticket.

Another example is the Reading thread, its entirely unrealisric to expect us to take 4,000 there but you have comments like 'surely we should sell out for this' which is just counter productive and just sets us up for a fall as we all kbow its not going to happen.

We will take 1500-2000, not bad for a team in a relegation battle, we should be proud and happy with that and stop worrying about what everyone else is doing or does.

All Clubs go through good and bad periods.

Not knocking CITY fans, being honest about it all and the truth hurts we've lost a lot of our good away support and the facts are there we were the 3rd worst away supported club in the Championship last season, yet were 9th in League position which I think is sad and not good.

Re: ' COME ON CARDIFF CITY FANS '

Thu Jan 12, 2017 7:44 pm

How can people say that not selling this out isnt embarresing, 12 o Clock or not doesn't matter it's just over the bridge. Same as when I went to Bristol Rovers earlier on in the season didn't sell out and it doesn't matter it was in the EFL Cup.

We just have to admit and get use to our away followings are one of the worse in the league.

Re: ' COME ON CARDIFF CITY FANS '

Thu Jan 12, 2017 7:50 pm

Let's just get over the fact that our following is now one of the worst in the league. this early kick off excuse is absolute bollocks when bristol is an hour away. I'm tired of hearing about how shit our attendances are. The fans will return when we Start winning. Let's except that and move on.

Mate give me a break. Do people find it that hard to get up at 9am and travel an hour. What has the world come to. It's NOTHING to do with an early kick off. Our away support is 3rd worst in the league on AVERAGE not because of a mid day kick off. People still don't care enough to prioritise city over other plans.

Re: ' COME ON CARDIFF CITY FANS '

Thu Jan 12, 2017 8:01 pm

Our away following has dwindled over the last few years, not selling out on Saturday is embarrassing and there's too many shit excuses but it is what it is and what our away following has become. I personally can't wait, we outsung them last year with less than what's travelling this year so I expect the same again.

Re: ' COME ON CARDIFF CITY FANS '

Thu Jan 12, 2017 8:38 pm

I just don't get it when people are using the kick off time as an excuse for not going on Saturday. Ok fair enough if your working or you've got other responsibilities that make it difficult or impossible to make - I get that. However if it's just purely that people can't make it because they dont like the 12 kick off time than I've never heard of anything so mad in my life. 12 for me and many of my mates is a real positive and yes it's not for everyone - perhaps someone's going out on an all nighter on Friday or perhaps someone's working a Friday night shift - but even so - even if I was working a Friday night shift - I'd still go! I'd be knackered but I'd still go!

I dont think it's about the kick off time at all - but why not just say, I don't fancy going to this one or I'm short this month due to Xmas or even that these last few seasons have been hard to watch us sometimes so I'm still going to go but perhaps I'll miss a few games. Nothing wrong with any of those comments IMO. I'm not even bothered if kick off times are changed - unless I book transport in advance then they change it - now that is annoying but it can happen so I guess just don't book in advance!

Looking forward to Saturday with or without a sell out crowd! The people who are there are the fans that really want to be there - I do t want to be standing amongst people that want to be elsewhere anyway!

Mate, I have been to Ashton Gate at least 8 times in my life watching Cardiff, I have done Reading the same amount, in fact I have been up and down the country watching Cardiff in every division and cup going. From an FAW Premier Cup Final on a Sunday at the Racecourse in a half empty stadium to shit holes like the McCain Stadium, Underhill, Feetham's and many more.

I have watched us in every division home and away from Division 3 to the Premiership, I'm not looking for a medal for that but on the same hand I find it insulting when people say using the 12 kick off is an excuse.

I have personally had an absolute f**k full of being treated like a dog and our games and times changed all the time. I don't go to the Football just for the Football I never have, to be brutally honest with you the Football is only a small part of an away day for me and many others I expect.

I wanted to go over to Wurzel Land and get over there early morning and get on the beers, I wanted to have 2-3 hours in the pub catching up with old mates, have a laugh and the go to the game at 3pm probably a little bit oiled and up for a good game with a cracking atmosphere on my terms.

As soon as they changed the kick off that fucked it all up for me, even if you get over there for half 9 your going to be lucky to have an hour in the pub before you have to go to the ground. The majority of Bristol City fans would barely have got out of bed I don't expect, the atmosphere will be an absolute snore fest, it does not appeal to me in the slightest.

If your happy to be continually dictated to crack on but don't tell me that my stand is an excuse cos that's bullshit.

I'm going to Leeds next month, we will take at least 1200 less fans there than will go on Sunday, will I come on here and give it the billy big bollocks super fan and say where are you all, your all making excuses, no I wont.

Hi Rv, no offence meant! :ayatollah: I'm not questioning your personal loyal support over the years. For me personally though, I don't understand why a kick off time would determine whether a person would go or not (if I'm going, I'm going) but I guess it all depends on what you go for! I'm not a massive drinker and can't stay away from home too long due to some circumstances. A 12 kick off really suits me but I can understand if u were planning on going to the pub first...then how that's gone out of the window. You cud still have a good laugh though? Still meet up with mates and perhaps even go to the pub after? beers will be on sale at the ground so by the end of the first half us be tipsy? i can understand the constant changing of kick off times have made u reach boiling point but don't let it spoil you day out mate! I sounds to me like u do really want to go underneath it al....still time to buy a ticket and get down there but whatever u choose to do, I'll be singing loud there and will create a good atmosphere :bluescarf:
