Andy Powell. AKA 'Scrumbag' or 'Mongo'. A cheat, liar, gambler and drink driver. I'm more surprised that he understands how to use twitter.

What an absolute load of bullocks. Anyone who has not returned since the red debacle were looking for any reason to walk away and were not die hards in the first place.

I assume your statement was tongue in cheek Sneggy but wasn't sure. :)

We have far too many "fans" who are happy to have any excuse not to go. 11:30 ko did it this time when if the will was there it made little difference to the ability to get a decent crowd. The truth is our support is apathetic at best.

It's funny how you should say this as in the past 24 hours I have had numerous texts and work colleagues approaching me about how dire our attendance was.

I did not attend yesterdays game for various reason but my first response to each and every one of them is "why didn't you go to watch it"? Each and every one of these people are big football fans and were born and live in around Cardiff but not one of them attends any of our games or classes themselves as a Cardiff fan. If anything they actively dislike Cardiff.

My argument is, why do these people who like watching football, actively go out of there way not to watch and to slate their home town club?

If this sort of football fan in the south wales area just attended 3-4 games a season the clubs attendance would dramatically increase.

Because they are either armchair fans or support glory clubs.

to be honest its always been the same unless we have some modicum of success. Various members of my family all love the city but never attend matches - not even when we are doing well. They never slate them but they never go either and most live in Cathays, so not a million miles away. No logical explanation really.

RV Casual wrote:Genuine question then lads, why is there so much apathy towards Cardiff City FC from the City's inhabitants.

Don't get me wrong, I know there are loads of Cardiff lads who are stonewall, out and out as loyal as you can get Cardiff fans but as a City in general there doesn't appear much love for the Football team and as mentioned above, if anything there is even a bit of a dislike of it.

A valid point but I don't think the club is disliked in Cardiff though I wonder if the location of the ground has something to do with attendances. Its quite a journey from east or north Cardiff right across the city centre and out the other side to get to the stadium whether it was NP or CCS and transport links are not brilliant even from Canton, the Docks, Ely or other well populated areas that could be seen as being on the more favourable side of the city. I'm sure if the club were based closer to the centre then we would get a lot more walk ups.

Exactly. I was one of very few city fans in my school. It's irritating to say the least.

Not sure what people were expecting? Game was played down as a game for fringe players , I like many others decided it wasn't worth the time or effort to watch reserve game at 11.30 & on TV, I have free ticket for fa games and if it was on a sat 3pm would have gone! So it's easy to see where fault lay instead of blaming fans.!n :old:

I did'nt go and I'm not in the slightest bit embarassed. I don't see the need to justify to anybody why I chose not to go. I had nothing else on, and had a relaxing walk with the wife instead. Watching a Cardiff eleven playing Fulham in a cup that the majority of the PL and Championship play their reserve sides had no appeal to me whatsoever. I will continue to watch our league games as I've always done. If the club shows little appetite for this competition, I don't see why anyone should expect me to show any.

It was an awful attendance and we know it. There were lots of contributing factors but truthfully it does matter what the likes of Andy Powell says about it. He should concentrate on his own mental health issues rather than opening his gobshite. Too many home brew ciders and diseases from ugly farmers daughters has affected his ability not to be a prick.

Sympathy and lithium he needs, not a twitter account.

Who cares what he thinks?

If it hadn't been for driving down the motorway in a golf buggy nobody would even know who he is let alone listen to the chump.

Strange that you're much better known for being a tw*t than you are for playing your so-called "sport".

Jack, I was the only one in my whole year who followed CITY, they were all Leeds and Liverpool fans in the 70's in Cardiff and Newport or egg heads.

By the way the team I follow over hear Atlético Baleares play their home games either on a Sunday 12pm or sometimes 7pm on a Saturday night and no one moans

I didn't go Sunday and not ashamed that I didn't. As for this Andy Powell, I'd never heard of the tw*t until someone retweeted his tweet on twitter.
