Hate the manufactured groups like One Direction. I am old fashioned and like people who can play instruments and write their own stuff.

I disagree that it went downhill in the 80s I consider that to be the best period of music I agree that it went downhill from early to mid 90s though.

I guess it depends when you were born. I expect people older than me will say that the 50's rock and roll years were the best. I think most of the bands that have survived for more than the usual 5 years are from the 60's and 70's. Even now not many bands bigger than the likes of the Stones, and even Ozzy can still pull a crowd. I think for most people it depends on who is around when you are in your teens and early twenties. I still pluck my old guitar most days, and although I like learning some of the modern stuff I still tend to keep with my traditional tunes like Wish You Were Here, Whisky In The Jar etc. I just like music in general unless it's Spice Girl sort of stuff. I particularly like groups with good guitarists so obviously things from the likes of Derek & The Dominoes, Hendrix etc., is my sort of stuff.

I have to confess to singing that when I was in Rome and we found a mobile circus with a caravan outside -would have been rude not too![]()
