Completely different set of circumstances mate.
Hughes went straight from playing into the Wales job and entered Club Management after it.
Coleman has already tried his hand at Club level and his record is sketchy, hes been sacked twice and quit his other two jobs. He led Coventry to their lowest ever league position in their history and that was at Championship level.
As good a job hes done with Wales its a different situation and there is nothing in his CV that screams out he should be a leading contender for a premiership job.
At Fulham where he had his most success he was promted from within, knew the background and inherited a good squad. He managed to maintain the momentum which still requires skill but when things started to slow down he struggled to kick start anything hence why he got the sack a bit later.
The Welsh job was very similar with the difference he struggled at first but managed to find something to kick start it all off. He now finds himself in the same situation where things have slowed down. Will he try and find a solution or will he go to the Jacks?

That isn't quite the true story of his Fulham days either. He was doing an excellent job finishing mid table back to back, but Al Fayed kept slowly selling all their star players and not replacing them (Saha, Van Der Sar, Boa Morte, Malbranque, Legwinski) and still expected the squad to perform to the same level as before selling these players. He was a mad man. In his last season there they stayed up in 16th place but he was sacked and relpaced by Lawrie Sanchez who managed to steer them to 17th and stayed up by the skin of his teeth the season after.
