We certainly shouldn't be gambling on a lower league player in our position for sure.

I don't see Villa letting him out on loan having paid 12 million for him

The way Prem clubs work now these days when they come down it wouldn't be a surprise.

Unless a struggling Prem club take a punt on him I just don't see Villa loaning him to another championship club.

Just have to see but not a Bruce signing and if he ain't gonna get games I don't see the Villa owners wanting to pay wages for him if he ain't gonna be involved because it's highly doubtful he will be sold to another club in January.

He is not Prem quality. £12million, on a 29 year on £30k a week was the definition of madness. Thats less than Newcastle bought Gayle for who is 5 years younger.

Villa are 14 points and a lot of places behind Brighton, they need to win their next three games (before the transfer window opens) as they have some difficult decision ahead.

How much is he really worth ? They are going to be screwed for about £8 million :o

Can't see this happening. We need raw pace rather than a tricky play off the striker type.

I agree with most of what you say mate but I personally think that RM is exactly the sort of player we need.
I'm assuming that Ralls will make way for the new striker or maybe he or Whitts will play on the left in a sort of lob sided midfield. Either way, our midfield will be a little lacking numbers so RMs ability to drop in the hole will suit the system perfectly. Only my opinion mind

We need raw pace but we also need RM as you say. Knows how to score, simple as that.

Gosh, looking at our squad we need so much don't we.

What an earth were previous managers thinking of by not getting in a decent pacey and proven striker.

It's bizarre and negligent to think we could compete in this division without a goal scorer.

Plus the lack of pace throughout the squad has been worrying for years and manager after manager has neglected this area.

At least Warnock recognises this and it's sad that he didn't join where he had a transfer window to wheel and deal.
