Most people who have at some point sat in 116 have either directly been part of or witnessed first hand the heavy handed bully tactics and favouritism to the away fans. It's the reason I stopped sitting over there and I think there's a few on here who feel the same.

Cardiff suffer just as much as any other team in the U.K. And that is most people support the top 5 Clubs and are not interested in there local teams. Very sad really as these so called fans will never go through the emotions of watching your team live. That is there loss, but when we got to the Prem we managed to grab these glory fans and they all disappeared when we went down.
I would rather 14000 passionate Bluebirds that 27000 that includes plastic twats.

Out of interest where are people in this forum from?

good debate this and some interesting thoughts, how about as Cardiff is very much a metropolitan city many folk now living here are from other locations so they in turn travel to watch their home team as much as exiled Cardiffians travel back to the City.
Annis what you on about 'divided' ? can you explain that please.

Gareth, Born in Roath Cardiff and in the 80's we took two coaches everywhere from Cardiff/Barry areas and sometimes City would only have 200 fans there

Could it simply be a cost issue?
I know from when I was in Cardiff decent pay and jobs are hard to come by, hence why I'm back in the big smoke

The attendances will pick up throughout the season .There seems to be a renewed sense of optimism again.
Now we have got a manager with a bit fire in his belly we will start playing with passion again and the fans will get behind them
You couldn't of paid me to travel over from Wurzelville and go and watch Slade and trollopes excuses for a team .
Beige football and a manager with a personality bypass doesn't inspire anyone to get behind the team .

It's def a cost issue for some mate but in the grand scheme of things I would say no in answer to the OP's question.

Merthyr Tydfil.
We used to take large in numbers home & away through the 80's and 90's.
Made a lot of life long friends due to the City both from the valleys and Cardiff itself. That's why my love for Cardiff will never leave me.

Originally from Carmarthenshire, family moved to Cardiff when I was in my teens, (75/76 promotion season). Lived in Cardiff until 2010, now back in Carmarthen. Still a ST holder, and do a few aways every season.

St. Athan, Vale of Glamorgam.
A rough village with nothing going for itself so I left when I was 19. Now and then I go back to the place after a home game. Looks like nothing has changed one bit.

Based on a 400,000 pop you could say that less than 3% follow us, which is terrible. It's almost like the club isn't in the city itself. People can't be bothered to go as they see other things to do whereas all those who live outside the city might see it as a day out/event to go too maybe? I bet at least 75% of the city don't even know when there is a game on.....
