But you dont understand the basics of it... Straightening passing lines and getting the higher tempo. It was the same midfield today, with Whitts, Ralls and Gunner. What was different? Why? i asked you several times, but you can't string a sentence to answer Several aspects of the game had rhythm, tempo and precision, other was the same old same old..
You must have been watching some shit football to think this was top notch football. like i said, you wouldn't know a football if it hit you in the head But you didn't, did you? Watch any games? You just type as it comes along

What was different? everyone worked their socks off they closed down and stayed tight to their man and didn't give Bristol the chance to play their game and got the 3 points through hard work and determination typical Warnock style and we are not in a position to play fancy football we need results and this way we will get them.

Some dirty play by Cardiff but Whitts scores a pen in injury time after Chamikah takes a nose dive in the penalty area and squeals like a pig. Still a valuable three points for City and a good start for Warnocks men. 2.1 to the city!

For me it was the formation and attitude that got us through.In terms of quality theres a way to go yet.The players were far more comfortable playing in this formation and the injection of a winning mentality by Warnock was there for all to see.But there were 1 or 2 bad habbits that need to be eradicated.This was shown to me when Hoilett got the ball in an advanced position,beat his man but crossed into an empty box.The several players just outside of the box reacted instead of anticipated and for me this illustrated why we've found goals hard to come by this season.And if little old me can see this then I guess NW and his team will have seen this too.All in all though I felt our season kicked off tonight and maybe finally with this squad(which has always been seen by the majority as good enough)will kick on.And lets not forget Bristol were a tidy outfit too.

Good post. I think the improvement here was down to belief and leadership. Yes we have some way to build quality and pace into the side but given time, I believe Warnock will do it. He won't allow any passengers that's for sure and he likes direct, effective football which is a breath of fresh air compared to what our other managers have tried to do. He's obviously studying what he's got to work with at the moment and he'll give everyone a chance to shine. But when he's decided on his best combination, even if it means fresh faces, I expect us to be a force in this division.
