Chamakh i wouldnt be so keen in and would rather he looked at veteran nolan if hes looking for that type of player in the middle who can bring a bit of grunt to the team. although i wouldnt say we need anyone in midfield.

id love to see Yesil (22) come in up front if not to add pace to Lamberts power.

and although ive been happy with Amos - a goalkeeper would be up there too!

He can play both up front and behind in a mid position generally attacking

Ye play behind the striker. But not a centre midfielder.

And definitely not a box to box midfield guvnor like Nolan

Warnock likes to get some of his ex-players into a new club so that he has eyes and ears that he trusts.

That always used to be the Paddy Kenny job - but he is past it now.

He has had Connolly and O'Keefe in his teams before, but maybe he wants to combine free agent quality with voices he trusts?

The centre back situation is strange. Going into the summer it was our strongest position with Connolly, Manga, Morrison and Turner backed up by Ajayi and Oshilaja - with Peltier able to cover there too. Whether 3, 4 or 5 at the back that looked loke a very strong core. But with Turner released, and Oshilaja on loan - then Connolly making mistakes and Manga looking only half interested (his mistakes at Burton were the main reasons for their goals) it doesn't look as good any more. I'm not convinced by Morrison as captain (not sure he will always start either) and I hoped Ajayi would break in this season, but maybe Warnock has been watching the tapes and doesn't like what he has seen - and wants an experienced club captain out there?

Holliet has pace which we lack, he my not of lived up to his potential but its pace, pace scares defenders and makes space for others.

With Cham, I rather him Fred and Zaho. Hes more of a piece of a puzzle for other things to happen. I don't think Warnock is thinking "he will be our 25 goals striker" although that would be nice. Its just part of a puzzle to make other things happen in the team.

Looks like Chamakh will be Warnock's 3rd signing. Brilliant. I think he'll eventually play 4-2-3-1. Marouane Chamakh can play in the middle of the three, with Hoilett and Pilks alongside. He also provides cover for Lambert. Paddy Kenny next?

Yeah slightly deeper but still upfront, he's not a midfield player.

Marouane Chamakh looks like he will sign, he needs to setlled down now, and hopefully Neil Warnock could get the best out of him. He needed new faces to fresh the place up.

Fair play to the op, seems to be some weight behind these names.

If he does sign these guys he at least would be intent on playing them and have them strengthen the team rather than picking up players then leaving them stew on the bench or worse. Huws barely a look in so far. Took okeefe months to get a chance. Kennedy, Saadi etc etc etc etc. There seemed to be a lack of plan when signing players with the exception of lambert. That lack of plan has been present over a number of managers.
