I'm an anti-Vinnie the Red boy all the way, but believe the club have got it right, for once, with Warnock's appointment.
It doesn't wipe out the many appalling mistakes, including selling our best player on the cheap.
However, I really want Warnock to succeed and think he's got all the qualities to do so.

Tony Blue Williams wrote:I agree with the sentiment of there is far too much finger pointing going on and some posters have an obsession for blaming Tan, Choo and Dalman with every little thing that goes wrong.

However, I understand that there have been mistakes and it is fair to point some of those out. That includes the awful decision to give the job to Paul Trollope, although ultimately it did force the hand of the board to do the right thing.

What is utterly wrong is putting information that we had offered Gary Johnson a contract and he was mulling it over whilst at the same time we were trying to contact Neil Warnock's agent. What followed was a stream of abuse towards the board for a decision that was pure fantasy whilst ignoring the REAL fact that we were offering the job to NW.

There are too many with this sheep like attitude and what is more disappointing is some of the more intelligent posters are going the same way just to please people. I just wish posters could be more objective and make a judgement on what has happened and not on the personality of the person who made it.

Good post.

This is something the fans have called for, and now they've got it. Of course Vincent Tan has made mistakes, but he knows what is needed now and has acted swiftly to do something about it. With the situation the club is in, this was the right time to make this appointment.

Unfortunately, this has taken the wind out of the sails of the anti-Tan brigade, particularly the idea that he doesn't care about the club and was prepared to let it go to League 1. Or that he wants to get rid of the club at the earliest opportunity.

You don't have to like the man, but he is clearly in this for the long haul. Just a little respect from time to time wouldn't go amiss

Re: the anti tan boys

Working for Tan is not really a problem, there are plenty of worse owners out there. Despite all the talk on messageboards about interference not one manager has confirmed that. All Chairmen have their say on all things in their clubs, decide on things that managers are not happy with, but that's their prerogative as they control the purse strings. Time to look to the future, dwelling on the past and things you have no control over is just a waste of time.

Re: the anti tan boys

Wed Oct 05, 2016 12:48 pm

Nothing has changed as far as I'm concerned. Never thought we would be relegated and never thought for one minute we would remotely threaten the play offs. We are still in 23rd place, we still have a poor squad, and we are still going to find it tough to finish around mid table which is where I thought we would end up at the start of the season. I think Warnock is a good bet as the manager most likely to be able to keep us up given our financial position, FFP etc.,but that's just my opinion. I know a lot of you must be disappointed Trollope has gone as so many of you predicted him and his new Welsh formation was going to fire us to the top.

What we all need to do as fans is lay off the politics posts and concentrate on the football for a while.

But f**k it let's all pretend nothinf happened because we signed Warnock.

The modern football thing was along time before tan came about as soon as we move into the new stadium it all changed you can't blame tan for that, have you ever been happy with a cardiff city owner ?

Very true. I wonder what ever happened to that Adel Taraabt whizkid Warnock managed at QPR. If he's still sharp and available he could be a shoe in to transform our limp midfield.

A shadow of what it once was? Hardly!!

Less than 20 years ago, we were getting crowds of 5000 in Div 4, people were moaning about Kumar and fans were having a whip around to buy players and the reputation of our club was in the gutter due to a serious hookigsn issue.

Since then we've had a huge rise with cups runs, a new stadium, some unbelievable players that will go down as true City greats, a short lived spell in the top flight and crowds that we could only dream of back in the 90s. They are the positives.

Some people would do well to remember the crap that went before Tan - overnight fire sales of players by Hammam, persistent creditor issues, numerous court appearances with HMRC and a previous 'saviour' who was prepared to shut us down. There is a very strong likelihood that without him we would have gone bust after years of financial mismanagement.

He made a massive error of judgement on red. He changed it back 2 years ago and if anything I see a bigger play on Blue be made now by the club than I ever recall before. He listened, he acted.

He has sanctioned the manager we all wanted (after making a mistake with Trollope - more evidence that he will fix things if not right) - based on Warnock's comments today about wanting to break the record for promotions, I also assume he has been been given some pretty strong assurances on the ambition of Tan and the club, otherwise frnakly why bother to come out of 'retirment'?

It's time to move on and hopefully enjoy what's on the pitch, rather than trying to generate conspiracy and anti club retoric off it.

Wez, if you call a season ticket unbroken since 1968 a newbie then that's your call. If you call 16 straight years without missing a home or away game consecutively then again that's your call. (Also sitting on the board for three seasons).
I respect others opinions.
In my humble opinion I will never ever forgive Tan for what he did to our club in regards to rebranding us, that is how I feel and my opinion will not change one bit :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:
