Could you explain what he has got back to date and what ( and how) he will get anything back in the future?

Parachute payments for starters

I think you need to read the accounts tan hasn't taken a penny out of Cardiff city just like most clubs in the championship we run at a loss and he is funding it

Which season did the last set of published accounts relate to?

2014/15

Feb 2015 I believe, and the next set are due to be made available Feb 2017. I don't know what is happening behind the scenes, and until the next set of accounts are published neither does anyone else. We can only go by what we are told, but we will have to wait a few months before some of the questions on here can be answered.

The latest publicly available accounts are for the year to 31 May 2015 rather than February. The May 2016 accounts have to be submitted to the League by 1 December so they can check if they are FFP compliant, but they don't have to be filed at Companies House until Feb 2017.
It is fairly safe to assume that the May 2016 accounts will be FFP compliant as the League lifted its transfer embargo based on the figures for the ten months to 31 March with evidence produced by the club that they would also be compliant for the last two months of the year.

Parachute payments cover about 70% of the players wages this year.

How much are they exactly don't you think if he's putting in a million pound a month (not even considering other expenses) that it kind of cancels out the parachute payments?

Not sure what crack you've been smoking but £8m was barely enough to cover le fondre, macheda and dicakgio wages let alone the other 25/30 players in the squad hence the reason they needed offloading, and even though they are gone we had to settle them up to get them off the books which wouldn't have been cheap, cheaper than paying them all season no doubt but they wouldn't have left cheaply that's for sure

When we have this level of ill informed fan then how are we supposed to get anywhere as a club?

The fact that Vincent tan sat in a room with reporters stating quite clearly he was writing off £40m over 5 seasons should be enough to inform even the thickest person in th world that he can't quite possibly be taking any money from the club if he is giving it away as a gift

Suppose you could just check the last 7 years accounts to see how factually incorrect you are though

Your right some people can't grasp the reality of basic business and profit & loss accounting ,how can tan take money when he's writing off millions of pounds a season

he's more than likely spot on with the other part of it he said he'd make us self sufficient and he is trying to do so, but unfortunately football is fickle, if he's wasting money he's slated if he's not spending he's asset stripping, fact is football fans can't agree on the colour of shite

simple fact is we need bums on seats, we need loyal fans to turn up week in week out regardless of how badly we are playing etc and we just don't have that core fan base to be self sufficient, if 18k turned up every week that £1m a month loss would look more like a break even, we still wouldn't be able to invest anymore than we have this season but with smart signings and responsible wages we can maintain our status in this league and at the moment that's all that matters relegation would be a disaster for everyone involved in the club

Anyway you can't have your cake and eat it, you can't spend not get promoted and then fall foul of FFP rules that would be disastrous hence why he doesn't want that again and likewise maybe we can't be as naive as we have this season so far it's a balancing act and unfortunately for tan and the club they can't please everyone and that shows in attendances and atmosphere so much so that I don't even like attending games anymore, when I can I do but 10 mins after kickoff I want to leave, thats not Down to tan either it's mainly grown men shouting and hurling abuse at players 5 mins after we have kicked off its not what I grew up with watching city and not something I appreciate every weekend either that kills the atmosphere not Vincent tan he can blamed for a few big things here by match day atmosphere is not one of them we created more noise with 4000 in ninian park

Tans revenge appointing a experienced manager like warnock......
Maybe now fans will realize that tan isn't trying to get us. Relegated and just trying to get the club to be run properly...

I feel exactly the same. I have always supported Tan but did get the feeling that there was an element of retribution in his attitude towards the fans - and I did not blame him. I just now hope that everyone can view this as a positive move and get behind the club as one, as it used to be. Unfortunately I have no hope of that from some.
