Why do I bother?

All for giving a manager a chance. We're just not creating chances, and that falls with the managers tactics. Not good enough. Conceding too many sloppy goals too.

I've voted No because in my opinion PT deserves the opportunity to show us ALL that he can operate at this level and given all the changes to the squad this summer it will take time for the team to settle.

In respect of the "Changes" let's ALL be honest here PT has had little say in who goes, maybe he has had a say in who comes in, but VT, Dalman and Choo are the ones who have cut our squad to the absolute bones, ALL in the name of cost cutting. Well, in my opinion, the cost cutting has gone WAY over the top and the worst aspect of that was selling Marshall & Moore within a week without having signed adequate replacements.

The last time the club had to make such dramatic cuts was DJ first season, again the start was poor, with 5 points after 6 games but then we did win 3 of the next 4 games. However and despite a few hit and miss results with a squad size of around 20 players, same as this season following the cuts, we managed to take only 2 points from the last 7 games as the players ran out of steam.

That's what we have this season, in my opinion, good result, bad results all laced between indifferent performances but I don't think we will be relegated, not this season at least, but the cuts are far from over. Manga, Whittingham , Pilkington, Harris and Healey are a few of the players out of contract at the end of this season. A few high earners in there who I have no doubt will be cut free in the name of cost control.

Not ALL of this is down to PT but he does have to try and work against the background of the "Cut At All Cost" mentality of the owner and his lapdogs.

As fans we need to accept we are going nowhere fast at the moment and PT, his backroom team and of course our players need to know we are with them, supporting them through thick and thin.

As regards VT, Dalman and Choo this is a mess of their making and any fans frustration should be directed solely at them.

For me, it's about adjusting expectations for this season.

it doesn't help when the top brass are telling us that we are going for promotion when much of what they are doing doesn't help that (selling better players, lack of investment etc).

Aim this season has to be to stay in the division

How about if we lose to Leeds on Saturday?

Will you change your mind then like you did last season after they beat us at their place and turn against the manager?

Agree with castle blue,
DALMAN,TAN and CHOO,made a significant mistake in selling both goalkeepers.
Also PT shares the blame by promoting our third choice goalkeeper.
Bringing in a player who was released from 4th division Portsmouth and no loan window to recover the situation.
It does seem it has been all rushed with very little thought around what would happen if we made a poor start.
Cut at all costs.
Perhaps TAN is happy to see the club relegated? A further excuse for further and deeper cuts?
The difficulty is,no one can see any future at the club,i e ambition.
Without ambition you stagnate and go backwards.
We are now seeing the unravelling of the club which started when malky was sacked.

Never thought I'd say it, but the players were doing it for Slade.....Not for Trollope. Having said that, the decision to flog two keepers and two left-backs has proved 'insane' ( to quote Dalman slagging off some fans).

Another poor result but we cannot (as fans or as a club) continue to rip ourselves apart with knee-jerk reactions after every defeat

Most of us agree that the club are starting to put things right off the field and that Paul Trollope has been dealt a tough hand (albeit with his consent by taking the job) for this season and maybe beyond, so give him a chance to settle the side and find the balace that will see us climb the table

Surely, no one seriously believes we ate going to put in a serious challenge this season, so let's just cut the guy and his team some slack and see what develops in the coming months

Personally, I don't see us being down there for too long and it won't help with threads like this so early onto what we knew would be a tough season! :(

I agree Sven but I can see WOL being all over this if its a big yes vote. Nothing would please those shitstirring tossers more.

I've got four questions (the answer to all of these are no, in my opinion). And I do think we are in grave danger of going down, we are dreadful.

Can you name a positive thing Trollope has done this season?

Is the style of football working?

Does he know his best team?

Do we look like scoring?

Well said re VT etc but I don't think the club feel they have a choice with FFP. Imagine a transfer embargo with this squad in January! That said, VT has ripped the heart and soul out of the club and I'll never forgive him for the rebrand.

Trollope though hasn't managed for 6 years, and that was at a lower level. I don't think there's any evidence of him turning things around in his past or in the way we were playing. We're getting outplayed on a regular basis, can't score and can't stop the goals going in at the other end. If he had a more impressive CV (like Pearson who's struggling at Derby) I'd be more patient but I can't help but feel Trollope doesn't know what he's doing? His team selections for starters are curious to say the least.

That's where I'm at. The evidence is mounting that the 3-5-2 system doesn't work and frankly it never will do if leaving out our better players is needed to accommodate it.

Wez I was thinking we could win the next three, like your post said, after that last night well! if we don't beat Leeds or Rotherham, then I think yes, need 4 points from next two really, hope last night was not a sign, he's starting to lose the dressing room, that's what it felt like, the players don't believe in what he is trying to do.

Anyway next few games can put that to bed, or a change is needed for me

Re: Trollope to get sack poll

A change in approach is desperately needed. I usually say give it 10 games but even after 7 it is clear there's not even a hint of improvement and it could be argued things are getting worse. If he refuses to change his approach within the next half a dozen games and results still haven't improved then I'll find it hard to defend him.

Re: Trollope to get sack poll

Wed Sep 14, 2016 2:22 pm

I still believe in the whole "judge after 12 games" mentality so I've gone for Maybe in the hope that he can turn it around in the next 5 games.

Is it really his fault though? Lets be honest.
He's got no real say over transfers in or out.
He was cheap.
Too much put into his association with Wales' recent success.
He was convenient.
The real problem is the management of the football side of Cardiff City. Tan, Choo and Dalman
