We are in a Transitional period.

I'm not sure about this transitional period thing. Every season there has to be a transitional period. The game is evolving all the time, tactics and formations tend to change regularly, and most teams are active during transfer windows strengthening their teams while getting rid of those no longer needed. Most of the big teams are always spending vast sums on new players who have to fit in to their new surroundings. You could say that teams are constantly developing and that nearly every year there is a transitional period. The better teams with the best players deal with it.

I'm pretty sure I can recall you moaning about the management back to at least the Dave Jones era. You've definitely been anti Malky, Ole, Slade and now Trollope - so who was the last city manager your thought was worth his salt?

What about Schoular, Ashurst or even Eddie May? Has there ever been a point with the City where you were not generally pissed off?

I opened this thread in the false hope that you would actually put something up that backed up your thread headline "We are in a transitional period" with something of substance in your OP; but all we got was (quote) "Deal with it!"

Now you are demanding people respond to you for doing the EXACT same thing you decline to do to most sensible challenges to your daft posts, i.e. answer glibly or not at all!

I have to say nobody on this forum talks as much nonsense as Rydogs. I may be wrong, but he comes across as someone who has never played a game of football in his life, and gets most, if not everything concerning the game wrong. On the plus side, I enjoy reading his posts because most of them are so ridiculous. Harmless enough, and brightens up my day.

Yeah you are wrong I have played football probably more than most on here wether I talk nonsense or not that's you're opinion but I always say how feel regardless how diffrent it is to some.

Rydogs, we Are in a transitional period,,,and we have been in a transitional period since Dave Jones left our club, but you must be factual, concise, and give your rational to the subject, when originating such postings as this one.

This mb has had enough attention seekers in the past to sink a battleship, try and focus on quality, rather than quantity.

While I agree with your sentiments, let's not forget that all football clubs are competing in a results driven, financial business world. Time is not a guarantee of success, and PT & Co have to deliver positive results, sooner rather than later. That's the harsh reality of it all, and if this "new model", or system of play continues to underwhelm, and not deliver,, then changes will enevitably have to be made.

Being in a transitional period should not put us at a disadvantage to most other clubs in our division. They are nearly all in the same boat, and will be next season and the season after etc. Most have signed new players who have to fit into a particular system. I don't know how many Championship managers have had two full season at their clubs, but at a guess I would'nt think the number is high, although I stand to be corrected on this. Every time a new manager is appointed, most fans agree that it may take at least half a season before his approach starts to pay dividends. This means that a lot of clubs, not just us, are in a transitional period. You could argue that most clubs are almost always in a transitional period.

I said "deal with it" simply because people need to stop having a go at the manager and the team and give it time to gel and maybe i did say it flippantly but that's how I felt at the time and yes the results have to improve and they will if given the chance and support chopping and changing could make things worse like what happened at Charlton last season went through I think e different managers and went down.

But Trollope and the club is finally trying to put a playing style or identity into the club not just the first team but running through to the academy which has been needed for years and I don't see many clubs in the championship being serious with a manager putting an identity into their clubs just appoint a manager and spend some money and only focus on the style and results of the first team and if the results dont go well for them they face the chop and bring another in while we are sticking to what Trollope and what the club is trying to do regardless of the poor results because if we are patient and give Trollope the chance the style and ethos will instill more and more into the club and the results will improve but it will take time to fully accomplish.
