Tan is not getting revenge but winding down his involvement in city until he leaves us in 4yrs better off financially but in what division , for some or many on here being in div 2 debt free and in blue means we are better off !! I won't see it that way but then it's an opinion, :old:

All superficial wez. he's torn the heart and soul from the club. If he had an ounce of sense we could be a sustainable premier league club with a huge passionate following. Considering the money he's got at his disposal and his initial goals he's nothing less than a FAILURE.

Can I just say something, regardless of how much money Tan has, under FFP he can only invest upto £8m a year. All this he is a billionaire so he should be spending tens of millions on players, it don't work anymore.

We have to be self funding and in our current circumstances, id rather him invest that money making us debt free, in which he is doing, the next few years are going to be very tough indeed, we have to all get used to it.

Football is a business, Tan has clearly made mistakes along the way, but if it prevents us going into admin so another lucrative owner can buy us then I for one, will be very grateful for what he has done.

The problem we have as a club at the moment is that we are at the end of a golden era for CCFC. We have had Cup finals, championships and a very positive time for the club on and off the field.

Now that is coming to an end, what Tan and the club are doing at the minute is preparing for life without any parachute money, and rightly so unless we generate enough funds off the field we have to move on high earners and players with any financial value.

Its sad, but it football.

We have heard the usual comments from the club about play offs being the target, but the club's actions suggest otherwise, and this is just the normal talk that most clubs come out with around this time of the year anyway. The club has appointed another budget manager who has already been sacked by Bristol Rovers, sold a couple of our better players, and have made it clear there is no money to spend. That does'nt sound much like a club likely to reach the play offs to me.
I am not sure what Tan has in mind long term, and I doubt if anyone other than Tan knows either. We know he was not happy about the return to blue, and he obviously knows about the abuse pointed in his direction while we were playing in red. He has always said that the club will be in a better position at the end of his reign than when he took over. That would'nt be really difficult, and if we were in div 3 and debt free when he leaves, he could argue that he was true to his word.
I just hope that he is not getting his revenge on us for forcing his hand with the return to our true colours, especially as he appears to have lost interest in the club since we changed back to blue. I don't believe any of us know what his plans are, and I am not sure if there is going to be a good outcome at the end of all this. I honestly think that as a businessman, he is trying to minimise the losses he will suffer as a result of a risky business venture, and get out whenever it is practical to do so. Who knows where we will be when this happens.

The club have made there position quite clear over the past 2 years it's about balancing the books and still being competitive in trying t9 make the playoffs the days off over spending have gone ,the club and Tan can't win with the fans when they speak the fans slag them off and tell them to shut up and when they keep quiet the fans still have ago and say they've lost interest

I'm all for balancing the books and understand the financial position of the club. What I would like to hear is some honesty from those who are running the club. Only the most naive of supporters would believe that there is any realistic chance of making the play offs. I would like them to say that this season, or even the next three or four seasons are all about stability while the debts are being cleared, and then either a serious promotion challenge or an attempt to sell the club. Just be nice to know their true intentions, because do you honestly think that the actions taken since the Summer are that of a club seriously looking at promotion? Their statement of making the play offs is something they are obviously going to say, they need to sell tickets etc. Their actions suggest something completely different.

While anyone can take points off anyone in this league, consistency is the key. There were 63 points difference between the top and the bottom last season, and we were 25 points adrift of the leaders. There are teams with serious chances of a play off place, some with no chance, and some with an outside chance. I would put us into the third category if we can get ourselves a goal scorer. Without a striker who can put the ball in the net, I would give us no chance at all. We have played 5 games and our season has not been defined. However, our players have managed to score twice in six competitive games (both goals absolute screamers that don't happen too often). If you think this looks promising for the future, then our opinions are completely different. Does'nt mean I am right or you are wrong, we just have completely differing outlooks on our current results and form.

No it doesn't look promising but if don't have hope what's point on going to games week in week out? Yes outside chance is best but mid table more likely! To show it's to early derby for all there goalscoring potential I believe have scored 1 goal yes they will be there or there abouts at end season but same can be said city if get that striker in by tomorrow
