Malky knew Mr Tan and the Board didnt know anything about football, so he ripped the club off right , left and centre. Never want to see this guy back in football

I just don't understand how we bang on about this success and he got us to the Premier League and that, he spent near enough 70 million in two seasons only to get us just above the relegation scrap.. spending 50 million as a newly promoted club to be hanging around the relegation places with one away win 4 months.. people say we would have stayed up but struggled to get away wins he only had one.

He embraced the rebrand that supposedly all have us hated and he spoken positively about it where people like Ole actually spoke how he was against it.

We slate managers like Slade and Trollope yet none of them have been given 10 million to spend if you add up the transfers... not even 5 million is it? Yet we still hold Malky up as this incredible successful manager yet pissed away 70 million on players, not hard to do what he done with funds like that.

I will always remember him for his first season but saw a completely different man after the promotion season.

Totally agree. A few to many with rose tinted glasses on her towards Malky. I personally think he was the start of where our club is now.

Malkys transfer waste was awful the amount he spent we should of stayed up

We would have stayed up if Tan didn't interfere. We were never in the relegation zone under Malky and we had all the bottom half teams left to play at home except Liverpool and Chelsea.

Malky also had a 100% winning record at home to bottom half opposition, beating Swansea and West Brom 1-0. There can be little doubt in my opinion Malky would have won us the points at home to steer us up the table second half of the season. We definitely wouldn't have lost 3-0 and 4-0 to Hull and Crystal Palace, the 2 teams that got promoted with us, that's for sure!

It was Ole who took us down, not Malky.

What I can't understand is how things all went so spectacularly wrong, starting with the signing of Andreas Cornelius. This bearing in mind that Malky & Moody claimed to have a "dossier" on all players they signed???

Hindsight being a wonderful thing, & Malky Mackay is bound to think "what if". He's had almost three years to think about it, after all.

I often wonder "what if " Dave Jones remained as our manager, & had the same level of financial support that MM had at that time? Would he have achieved the same, or even better things at City???

It's certainly thought provoking, if little else!

I've always thought this to about DJ , he had as competing at the top and playing attractive attacking football with limited budget relying on small transfer fees and loans , if DJ had the budet Malky had I think we would of won the league with DJ

He was out of his depth in the PL and his cautious football and ending up losing anyway did my nut in the end.

Spot on, everyone goes on about Acorn but look at the other players he bought, got our money back on most of them and a profit on others. What about Medal, Liverpool are now trying to buy him. Take a look at the so called Super managers, they have all bought duds in their time We were the fittest team in the Premier under Malky, by the time OGS finished with us we couldn't last 90 minutes :ayatollah:

he was a fantastic manager for us at championship level, but had very little premier league experience and it showed.

he presented himself as a modern, forward thinking manager with his dossiers and whatnot, but the reality is that all managers nowadays do that, its not 1980 for heavens sake. what did the dossier on cornelius say? he was also shown to be a hypocrite re the ignorant texts he sent.

he has gone from hero to zero in the space of 2 or so years. i wonder what it says in his leather bound book of how to run a football club? another gimmick.

joking aside, he gave us a team to be proud of, but had his faults. i hope he gets a chance to show what he can do at championship level, but its likely he will have to drop down to the lower leagues.

Apart from the rebrand Tan has done alot more good tthan any other owner . Sam signed players for fun which was great at the time but we couldn't afford them (andwe are still paying for those mistakes now)
Tan has pledged to clear the debt over the next few years he's got rid of Langston , nomore court cases and he's cutting costs to try and make the club run self sufficent i.e not relying on a billionaire to keep it afloat. The only bad thing Tan did in my eyes was the rebrand which thankfully he has reversed
