On what evidence are you basing this?

Gunnar and O'Keefe have played in the Premier League - Huws has been loaned out from a club who were in League 1 last season and certainly didn't set the world alight at a club that struggled in the Championship last season.

He could turn out to be a very good player but he does seem a little injury prone and a few decent performances in largely unimportant games for his country hardly suggest he's superior to O'Keefe and Gunnarsson.

Loaned out because he didn't want to play in league 1 may I add. It was the lads choice.

Played 30 games last season for Huddersfield, scoring 5. Caldwell didn't take well to Huws not wanting to stay and play for Wigan in league 1, hence why he's not getting game time there.

Don't make out he couldn't get into the Wigan side based on ability, that's not the issue.

An absolute waste of time. Nothing against the player but we have ample midfield players. We desperately need a proven goal scorer and more pace in the team.

The club seems to be going backwards at a rapid rate signing only freebies and showing no ambition. Unfortunately we have no chance of getting promoted as the club seem intent on offloading the quality players for money and not re investing in the squad.its great to reduce debt but it's gone from one extreme to another. Very little of the parachute payments re invested over the past 2 seasons.

You require a portfolio of evidence to back up my observation? :)

Think You will find if we do sign him this will not be a free transfer....Huddesfield tried to sign him but were put off by his transfer fee

A fee of over a million was mentioned at the time

That being the case I am even more surprised. The money could go towards a decent proven goal scorer which we have needed for quite a few years. Doing things on a shoestring year in year out does not get us anywhere.

Why are we going on about this "proven goalscorer"? We need the supply first and foremost, and Gunnarrson has never had that in his game. Whittingham needs a long-term successor and due to us using three central midfield players this term we will need the depth. Huws would be a smart signing

No point signing him on loan really is there?

Buy him as one for the future otherwise leave well alone and go out and finds a goal scoring striker.

Vidra eg.

this signing actually excites me this is what we need to see young welsh talent in the city ranks is a great thing especially when they are as good on the ball as huws is plus with his age we could have him in the team for a number of yrs and he will add energy to the team which gunnar doesnt,i dont care if iceland got to the quarter final the guy slows things down and is nowhere near as good technically as huws imo

You don't need a full medical for a loan as far as I can remember, well that used to be the case, so its likely to not be a loan move.
