Made most of that back already.

How?

By losing to Fulham?

That doesn't even make any sense. Nice attempt though ;)

They've spent less than they've made back. Not rocket science.

Ah. I see what you mean now. Fair enough. However 45m. They're going to need that to pass FFP next season!

If the incomings are more than the outgoings in terms of ££ made to fees spent then it won't be an issue. Also there's parachute payments from the PL and 52k sellout crowds, so I think they'll fall within the FFP.

You forget about wages. The largest outgoings of any football club! And they're going to be huge!

I'm only on a wind up. But if they do fail, it might be an issue! Will certainly have to clean out next summer just in case.

Hence the money being brought in through transfers. Say they spend £50 million and bring in 80 million through selling players, added to season tickets sales and merchandise etc. That's more than enough to be covering wages. Plus the 100 million PL money helps too mind. :laughing6:

Yes. I see what you're saying. However, you're not yet in the green are you? We were after our exploits in the Premier league. Offloaded many high earners and still found ourselves in an embargo. It's a dangerous game to play trying to buy yourself out of this league. I don't like to see it either. Hence I hope they fail.

Sky Bet's Dale Tempest said: "I'm not sure we've seen a market move so much without a ball being kicked, with punters clearly convinced that Benitez is the man to turn Newcastle's fortunes around.

"We've also priced up various Newcastle specials on request, including 14/1 on them racking up over 100 points, which they managed last time they were in the second tier."

Most points in a season scored by Reading with 106. Newcastle have scored 102 joint with Leicester who also have bagged 102 points out of a possible 144. Could the 106 record be broken this season by the Magpies?

33 wins, 8 draws and 7 losses is all they need as a minimum.

With Newcastle as your 'second' team by the sounds of it.

Ratboy, I was using them as an example in regards to FFP. Wales are my second team now that you've brought it up. :laughing6:

And what's in the green? If you're talking financial terms, it's in the black. You must be a bit colour blind.

Re: Newcastle squad for coming season

I don't think this team is as good as the last Newcastle team that walked the championship.

Andy Hinchcliffe said last night (before a ball was kicked) that it was quite possibly the strongest XI to ever start a match in the championship?!?!?

The last time they were down they had Andy Carroll, Kevin Nolan, Joey Barton, Alan Smith, Wayne Routledge, Peter Lovenkrandz, Jose Enrique, Collicini, Danny Simpson, Steven Taylor, Nicky Butt, Geremi and Danny Guthrie making up the main part of their squad.

The midfield that started last night was

Ritchie, Hayden, Colback, Anita

Best midfield the championship has ever seen? I don't think so.

The Shelvy come on and gave away several petulant found which slowed the game down for Fulham. He has a super bad attitude and if I was them of ship him out cos he's a bad apple.

They will do very well most likely, but to be honest, there ain't much change between bottom 6 of premier and top six of championship.
Bouncing straight back up is not a guarantee (even with their pots of parachute payments).

Fur coat, no knickers for the championship maybe?????
