My club only played in the lower part of the Welsh league, but I don't ever remember turning up at a game only to see it called off because of pitch that was unsafe to play on. Had a few called off a day or two before the game due to unforseen problems with the playing surface, but even at that standard we never turned up and then promptly shot off looking for another field. Surprised a club like Cardiff are not playing better opposition in proper stadiums. They could have saved themselves some cash and played local teams.

I would have thought it quite possible that a club like Splott Albion or Heath Hornets might turn up for a pre season friendly and find that their pitch is not playable, but I would have thought a Championship club might ask a few questions about the state of pitches due to be used before going on a foreign tour. Will be interesting to see how many other clubs of this stature have their games called off due to unplayable pitches. None I suspect.

while other clubs play on progressively better surfaces than years gone by. Cardiff seem intent on going back to the 70's both at home, and now it seems away :laughing6:  :ayatollah:

are you really a cardiff fan ? never heard you say anything positive or you one on the moaners that don't go to matches anymore

The team were based just 45 minutes from the ground. Was it too much to ask that a City official popped over on the morning of the match to check out the facilities. Annis posted a photo of the outside of the ground a day earlier I think, and that picture should have set alarm bells ringing. Looked like a building site.

Agree, it's not the feel good factor story the club i'm sure would welcome. To answer the question directly, yeah that should of happened, club officials going down ahead of the team, it's pretty remarkable a game took place on it. And for those who think this all about mocking the club. What about serious injuries? The club put players in direct danger of doing some damage. It's negligent.

Simply embarrassing how some city fans are taking this seriously and having a pop at the club over this.
