ROTHERHAM END BRADSHAW INTEREST
Rotherham have conceded defeat to Barnsley in the chase for Tom Bradshaw after refusing to pay over the odds for the Walsall striker.
The Millers thought they had agreed a club-record fee for 23-year-old, believed to be around £500,000, after he handed in a transfer request on Wednesday, but the Saddlers upped their
Millers chairman Tony Stewart, said: "We had a bid and that bid was upped. We thought we had the deal bagged and done, but then Walsall came back, said there was a late bidder and would we increase our offer?
"At that point, you think, 'Okay, what do we do now?' I asked the manager (Alan Stubbs) if he thought the player was worth more than our last bid and he said 'no'.
"That was the opinion of the manager and his team and (chief scout) Gee (Evans). Other clubs may think differently about what a player is worth and, of course, we respect that."

BORO MEDICAL FOR BARRAGAN?
Middlesbrough are closing in on their sixth summer signing with Valencia defender Antonio Barragan due on Teesside for a medical.
Press Association Sport understands the 29-year-old will undergo tests within the next 48 hours with a view to completing a move to the Riverside Stadium.

BARNSLEY SIGN BRADSHAW
Barnsley have signed Tom Bradshaw from Walsall for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old submitted a transfer request on Wednesday, which the Saddlers accepted and he has joined on a three-year contract at Oakwell.
Bradshaw, who also attracted interest from Rotherham, helped Walsall to a third place finish to make the League One play-offs before losing in the semi-finals to his new club.
Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom told the club's website: "Tom will fit in well with our playing philosophy. We want to play two up front and Tom will add undoubted strength to our strike force.
"He is a clever player with an eye for goal. I am sure he will become a fans' favourite."

BRISTOL SIGN O’DOWDA
Bristol City have signed winger Callum O'Dowda from Oxford for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old has signed a three-year deal at Ashton Gate after passing his medical on Thursday evening.
Manager Lee Johnson told the club's official website: "He's a real emerging talent. He's very mobile, comfortable on the ball and hungry to improve.
“He's got a great personality, which is conducive to having a very good career.
"Callum isn't exactly under the radar because there was a lot of interest in him, so we're delighted he's joined us; we believe he can continue the progression he has already shown."
