Well I know my father R.I.P. and many others did'nt fight against the Germans, the Japanese and then in his case against the North Koreans to eventually handover control of our country to 27 European countries who run a pathetic, disorganized gravy train for the likes of the Kinnock family. Plus dont forget that the most prominent country in Europe - Germany was responsible for slaughtering not only millions of Europeans in two wars but millions of Russians and many other nationalities throughout the world. Myself and many others have not needed to be convinced to vote leave by Boris Johnston, we have a mind of our own and I suggest it is you who are the sucker to believe all the project fear propaganda given out by Cameron and his "fat cat" colleagues including Wall Street Bankers, the City of London Bankers, George "Billionaire" Soros, and David "rolling in it" Beckham to name but a few.

I agree. If we vote out there is likely to be an initial drop in the value of our shares, some forecast 20%. Most of the CEO's of our biggest businesses are paid massive bonuses in the way of shares. Why do you think that they are suggesting we vote to remain. If leaving meant a big rise in the value of shares, which side would they support then? Yet they never hesitate to throw hundreds, sometimes thousands on the scrapheap if it means they increase value to their shareholders. These people telling us we should remain could'nt give a hoot about me, or anyone else on this forum. If I had over £25million of shares in my company like my ex boss has, I would be begging everyone to vote remain.

So if we remain, we continue as we are, Economy relatively stable, chance to grow on an established system, if we leave there will a drop in share values, but how much and for how long, is a forecast? Why risk it?

You know we aren't voting for those MPs to take control don't you? They just are saying what they think we should do, Cameron will still be in charge regardless

Would not be risking a huge amount. EU economy stagnant while nearly everywhere else is experiencing growth, countries that have been or are virtually bankrupt and need bailing out, high unemployment (over 1.5million in this country alone), uncontrollable borders, people who want to see harm come to this country but can't be deported as it may hurt their feelings etc. etc. Can't see much going for it really.

Re: " EU REFERENDUM TODAY "

Thu Jun 23, 2016 4:26 pm

Out for me.

Looked very closely at the pros and cons and can see how easily most arguments such as economic growth or border control can be tweaked for either side so for me it came down to the simple fact that for me democracy is a fundamental tennant of western society and the level of unelected people holding power at the heart of the EU goes against the grain of that concept.

Someone smarter than me commented that the EU is a 70s solution to a 50s problem.

It is a failed experiment and it's time to knock it down and build it back up from scratch. The UK leaving is the first true break in the dam that can see that process begin.

I honestly feel us leaving will be the catalyst for others to follow.

Why do you think the above named would govern us, it's an in/out of the EU vote, not a General Election.

The Churchill quote is not all from 1953.

It has been cobbled together from things he said in 1930, 1944 and 1953 to make a quote to suit a certain agenda.

Sad to think that anyone could describe Winston Churchill as a "Pisshead" in particular when it is done in a thread about an EU referendum.

Winston Churchill is regarded by the EU as one of the "Founding Fathers" of the United States Of Europe project so it's strange to see a supporter of the EU insult WC in such a manner.

Annis I just think it is sad that anyone could so disrespect the person most people would agree was the greatest British Prime Minister EVER. Farage without doubt misused a quotation taken from a shouting match between Churchill and De Gaulle for his own agenda, and he should be ashamed of himself for doing that.

This is closer to Winston Churchill true views on the EU;

We cannot aim at anything less than the Union of Europe as a whole, and we look forward with confidence to the day when that Union will be achieved.’

We are prepared to consider and, if convinced, to accept the abrogation of national sovereignty, provided that we are satisfied with the conditions and the safeguards… national sovereignty is not inviolable, and it may be resolutely diminished for the sake of all men in all the lands finding their way home together.’

We have our own dream and our own task. We are with Europe, but not of it. We are linked but not combined. We are interested and associated but not absorbed.’

So Churchill was very Pro European but unlike the cowards Major, Blair, Brown and now Dodgy Dave, who let's face it have rolled over and had their tummies tickled by the Brussels Fruit Loops, he would have made sure he was 100% convinced about signing away any powers of sovereignty.

Anyway I voted LEAVE weeks ago and I hope the majority of British people do the same. Enough is enough and now is the time to "Take Back Control".

And Castleblue, most of the Remain politicians wouldn't get my piss on their face if it was on fire.Winston Churchill was a war PM nothing more and he was a drunk. He was just lucky that the winning side gets to write the history books.
