CAULKER TIPPED FOR PALACE MOVE

Steven Caulker could be on his way to Crystal Palace from QPR in a £6.5million move, according to the Guardian.

The defender, who joined the Hoops from Cardiff for £8m two years ago, spent last season on loan with Southampton and then Liverpool.

However, he struggled to make an impact at either club and now looks poised to be handed another Premier League lifeline by the Eagles.

Alan Pardew is determined to boost his defensive options knowing Adrian Mariappa and Brede Hangeland are both free agents, while Martin Kelly is also reportedly attracting attention from Sunderland and West Brom.

NEWCASTLE LINKED WITH TRIO

The Sun claims Newcastle United are preparing for life in the Championship with moves for Derby midfielder Will Hughes, Brighton defender Lewis Dunk and Leeds United winger Lewis Cook.

Still only 21, he missed most of last season before returning from injury in April and playing in the play-off defeat against Hull City.

Dunk, 24, also suffered play-off heartbreak for the Seagulls against Sheffield Wednesday and is only 12 months into a five-year deal with the south coast outfit.

Cook, 19, has previously been linked with Manchester United and Bournemouth, and comes highly regarded having been named Football League young player of year.
