It could happen.

On the other hand, what if he's absolute dogshite and he has to be dismissed with the club in the relegation zone like he was at Bristol Rovers and we've then thrown away another season and another opportunity to appoint a decent manager.

I'm not really understanding this "huge success" with Wales either? Was he the manager? Or are we saying that the players were listening to him rather than Coleman? Do we know that he was doing things differently with Wales than he was with Cardiff last season?

I'm only really interested in Cardiff to be honest and as far as I can tell he was very much part of the problem last season so I don't see how it'll be any different this season.

Good luck to him - I think he's going to need it.

So being Wales assistant isn't a huge success ?

Not in my eyes.

If we're absolutely honest without Bale and Ramsey it's highly unlikely that Wales would have qualified for anything.

How much influence does an "assistant" have anyway? Are we saying he had lots of influence with Wales but no influence with Cardiff last season? If he was a "success" with Wales then you have to say he was a "failure" with Cardiff City.

Now, if he can persuade Bale or Ramsey to join Cardiff that would be another matter!

Good reasoning davids and you've done wez over with this debate.

He would of had influence on Wales and cardiff hence why we played much better when he joined the club we were inconsistent last season there were matches where we played so brilliant football and not the hoof ball of before he joined, with him in charge and slade not holding him back more of his younger fresh ideas could be made to the players and on the pitch

Wez not even logged on today and not even going to bother trawling through all the nonesense. Does it excite me? No, is it inspiring? No, do I think its the correct appointment? No. But he's our man now, it has benefits as well and from speaking to players previously he's a top coach, rarely do they make the step up. Without doubt much better options but names count for nothing, it's what is done on the pitch. Dissapointed but good luck Trollope  :bluescarf: :bluebird:

We thought that Solskjaer was a good alternative, but that was an expensive disaster.

We were all underwhelmed by the appointment of Slade, but that actually turned out OK.

So lets give the new guy a chance. When I saw him speak on TV earlier he said that there would be changes in the backroom staff. Perhaps he is the man to bring Bellamy on board? Who knows, but come August I'll be back behind the manager and the team. :bluescarf:

"Slade turned out OK".....you want to think about that buddy

He settled and improved the team after Ole left, and he didn't steal money from Tan. That's an OK outcome compared to his predecessors

Although ultimately Slade let us down with that pathetic run in overall an objective fan would conclude his management as OK.

It was never proved that MM did anything wrong in the transfer market but when something looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then you can be sure it is a duck, if you get what I mean ;)

Alarm bells sounded within weeks of Ole's reign for me. It was all over after the loss at Swansea and drubbing at home to Hull City

The loss to Swansea hurt more but that performance against Hull was the worst by any CCFC team since the turn of the century.

Yep! :ayatollah:

It's a done deal, we are where we are, we know Paul Trollope is a good coach and it appears (I liked how he came across in his interviews) that he has a different philosophy to his predecessor

It's now time to move forward together, get behind the new man in charge and (maybe more importantly) the team he puts together to represent us next season

C'mon Paul Trollope! C'mon Cardiff City! C'mon fellow Bluebirds! Let's unite behind the club and affect what's in front of us rather than moan about what we can't, i.e. the past! :ayatollah:
