What more do you need?

700+ games under his belt?

Come on guys, isnt this what we want?

Someone somewhere gave ferguson, mourinho, guardiola their first chance.

He's 3 seasons of experience behind Ardley

A hell of a lot more qualified than Bellamy

And a damn sight younger than Warnock.

He isn't part of the old setup, he is the academy coach, the one that deals with o sullivan and healy and all the other players we are screaming to give a chance to.

This guy to me is a more exciting prospect than any one else mentioned so far.

What more do you need?

How about a bit of experience at first team Championship level?

Has this bloke ever had to deal with first team players in a Championship team? Has he had any experience of coaching players at this level.

It doesn't matter how many "badges" and "qualifications" he holds. Any of us with the money and application could get those badges if we wanted to.

What we need is someone who knows this division inside out. Someone who knows the type of player needed to get out of this division (upwards not downwards) someone with a bit of nous, not a bloke who's never been near the first team of any professional football team in his life!

A manager needs to be respected in the dressing room - will this guy be given this respect by players who know his inexperience?

Absolute nonsense to be considering this bloke.

Without a doubt the biggest gamble which this club would EVER have taken.

And further confirmation that Tan knows f**k all about running a successful football club.

not all successful managers have ever played professional football so why should we havs to go down a particular road? didnt howe at bournemouth start out at bournemouth without any experience? ? :o

He did but that wasn't at Championship level. He was also a failure at Burnley which lead to his return to Bournemouth.

Yes he is now successful but he is the only one who has been a success from such a young age.

I understand the frustrations on this thread but isn't this part of the plan?

After spun king money for years and Tan thinking he has been cheated.
Isn't the policy of growing a Cardiff way? A dynasty if you like.

Using youth and developing a sustainable club where you try to make money overall b transfers rather than lose money.

I want Warnock but can understand the philosophy behind Trollope or Rowberry

ahhh thanks for info, seems we either want old codger (good as he is) or younger managers with experience but who haven't exactly set world alight! why not go down another route like rowberry? a risk i know but at least well regarded and with bright ideas no doubt. :old:

I see what you're saying but it's difficult to grow a "Cardiff Way" in the Championship.

If we were in League 2 or even League 1 I could perhaps see the logic but we cannot afford for this "experiment" to fail and leave us potentially back in the lower divisions for years whilst a new "philosophy" is built.

I am sure Tan is so thick that he honestly thinks that we can get promoted to the Premier League by just appointing somebody who is cheap and who will do exactly as Tan says.

He really has learnt nothing from the past few years.

Why? I think it's a fantastic opportunity.
Do i need my head checked? What qualifies you to make that judgement?

Our opinions differ, doesn't mean I'm wrong.

Ole came here after winning loads as a player and as a manager albeit in the norwegian league. He had loads of experience but still didn't work out

People on here are creaming over Bellamy, he barely has his coaching badges.

Warnock would be great but expensive and also close to retirement. He also didnt work out at leeds.

So why not try something a bit out of the box so to speak. No one on here us anywhere near qualified to judge his abilities.

So why be against the idea?

Is it big name syndrome again?

Re: CARDIFF CITY HOLD INTERVIEW FOR THE MANAGERS JOB WITH

I've got some badges from when I was in the scouts.

Surely I must be in with a shout?

There must be any number of excellent coaches out there but who is going to MANAGE the team?

Slade?
Tan?
Dalman?

We need a manager - we already have a head coach in Trollope.

For all we know they could be interviewing them with these young coaches alongside Warnock.

Not sure why people are having a go at the club when they don't really know what's happening. Let's see, I think it's great they are interviewing all types of coach and manager.

If this club is looking for long term success, the foundations have to be put in place first. No guarantee any manager can come here with the limited funds available, and get this club into the top six. I don't think we are any more likely to be promoted next season than we were this season. Hopefully, whoever is appointed can at least get us playing some entertaining football, and maybe even a play off place. I think it will be a while before we will seriously threaten the top two places in this league.

So tan wants a manager who has experience at this level, then interviews two people with none... logic :)

Re: CARDIFF CITY HOLD INTERVIEW FOR THE MANAGERS JOB WITH

Thu May 12, 2016 5:39 pm

We have not appointment this chap or anyone just yet. It's normal to go and do a few interviews in any line of work to decide on the correct appointment. Also it's normal to see what you have within. If not to appoint to see what longer term potential they have. Hold fire on commenting until we have a new manager

Bellamy in charge with this guy and trollope underneath him.
im almost certain that Bellamy will be our man leading us next season

100% agree with your post, we do need to bring on youngsters,if we had been promoted this season, with the team playing as they did, I doubt if we would have beaten Derby's record of 11 points in a season, lets build with the youth and then when we are promoted we would have a team that could compete in the premiership and stay there

Re: CARDIFF CITY HOLD INTERVIEW FOR THE MANAGERS JOB WITH

Thu May 12, 2016 6:56 pm

He would give our youth a chance as he would know them the best, think this appointment would be a blessing in disguise

Re: CARDIFF CITY HOLD INTERVIEW FOR THE MANAGERS JOB WITH

Thu May 12, 2016 7:15 pm

I would have no problem with the accent being on youth for the next few seasons but this is a club that has said that missing out on the play-offs is a "failure".

So do they really think that appointing somebody like Rowberry and playing a load of kids is going to get into the top 6?

How stupid can they be?

If they said that they were going to write off the next four of five seasons whilst they persue a policy of bringing through talented youngsters without caring where we finished in the league (provided we were not relegated of course!) then fine but if Rowberry is appointed how will he enjoy being told that top 6 next season is the minimum expected of him?

Also I'm afraid the crowds would fall through the floor if that were to happen.
