As I said earlier, I can't think of many businesses who would publicly brand a present employee of that business a failure. That is not the best way to motivate someone, and could make for an uncomfortable working relationship. I would expect a statement like that to follow the sacking of someone and not made about someone who has just been given a responsible position within that business.

"This squad cost £28 million to assemble. Vincent's position is clear, any lower than the play-offs is a failure. He is not putting £30 million a year into the business to not succeed, any businessman would want to take this team to the Premier League.
"We don't do charity, there's a job to be done and we've briefed Russell. That job has started.
"Moving players out is worth millions and with an honest guy like Russell in charge that will be done properly.
In fairness to Choo he ends with a nice compliment to RS but in my opinion the rest is harsh as we were 1 decent forward short of making the playoffs. Losing Jones & Mason, and then the left field transfer embargo, just as we are about to sign Tony Watt sort of cut the legs from underneath RS so a nice bland statement like "We would like to thank RS for his efforts but at this time the club would like to try something different" would have been more appropriate.
Also why is VT still putting £30m a year into the club, is that true or just embellishment? because if it is true then the club still has a massive problem and if far from financial stability.
