I was told today that not only does Vincent Tan want Russell Slade to stay on another season, but that Slade has been told to get rid of more of the biggest earners.

Ive also been told that its not all guaranteed that Slade will stay if another club came in for Slade and gave him a budget to spend on new players where as at Cardiff, Slade will have a budget, but a very very tight one.

The main players Slade will be told to try and move on because of their contracts being worth over £50,000 a week between them are Fabio Da Silva and Bruno Manga.

Fabio has been in and out of Russell Slades team this season and is not Slades first choice anyway, even though Fabio is a fans favourite.

On the other hand Bruno Mange leaving would be a big blow to Russell Slade as he sees Manga as one of his main players, but if by any chance City are promoted to the Premier League, Manga will be kept on.

Cardiff City also currently have 12 players out on loan and a few of them are expected to leave as well.

Wez many left and those that they could not get rid of because of their high wages like Macheda and Le Fondre were loaned out. True or not?

Hopefully we can pick up fees for Doyle, Macheda, Adeyemi and maybe even Le Fondre because they won't get a sniff if they come back. My only worry this summer is losing Immers to another team. he'll be a great piece of business on a free if Cardiff can snap him up.

Correct .

A lot have stayed, but that's only because the club were unable to get rid of them. Not sure how many are out on loan, but I know that the number is quite high. It is obvious that quite a few of these have no future with the club, and unless someone makes an offer I guess the club will just have to see out their contracts.

This is dreadful news.

Surely Tan can see hat Slade is hopeless and has not taken the great opportunity given to him to get into the top 6.

I refer to 3 consecutive games against London clubs all in the lower reaches all of whom should have been despatched comfortably. Instead 1 solitary point with 2 goals scored.

How does tan seriously think that Slade can improve on this next season?

He refuses to play a striker. He continue to experiment with a wide midfielder up front. He refuses to play Healey, John & Kennedy.

City desperately need a new manager, and a raft of new players. Now is the time to start looking.

ps. I have no problems with both Fabio and Manga going.

I have for while thought the reason why Tan 'trusts' Slade is the fact he has found a way of deflecting the fans fury away from himself. Since the return to blue and debt to equity VT has quietly gone away and left RS to cop the blame for any perceived failure.

Our club is in great danger because VT has an exit strategy which will see him gone by 2021. Anyone who thinks we are seeing anymore investment can think again, we are on our own and need to fully generate our operating income.

We need to stop moaning and get behind the team otherwise we are heading in the same direction as Bolton when the financial plug is finally pulled by VT.

I think Tan would go now if he could. I agree that we are not going to see any investment anytime soon, and that the cost cutting is a long way from being over. I remember a previous owner (David Goldstone) wanting out, and it was obvious that he thought it was better to get as much money back as he could rather than go for promotion. I doubt if Tan is over enthusiastic about the Premier League, because unless you can get up and stay there, he could find himself burdened with big debts again. I don't think he will want to be writing off massive amounts again, and that is why just staying at this level may be our target for the next few years. If I was a betting person, I think this club are more likely to go down than up over the next couple of seasons.

Slade must be replaced if we really want to get promoted. Manga must stay for the same reason. Fabio going wouldn't be a huge blow. Malone is as good going forward, but as susceptible defensively.

Wow

Lets be fair with no cash and transfer embargo (lately) he has done ok - not great but ok.

However as a fan and I know we spent ridiculous cash on poor signings this does not fill me with warmth that next year we can challenge (sorry I believe the play offs are gone). Surely VT despite wanting to cost cut can see the millions that await by getting promoted. The right manager with cash behind him can achieve.

I know we haven't kicked a ball yet next season but does this fill you full of warmth? No for me anyway!

Re: ' Cardiff City's Two Biggest Earners To leave? '

The big problem with this is that the club are trying to entice fans back, but selling our better players/fans favourites at the same time. It doesn't work. Look at the slade signings and who he actually plays. So what is he going to replace two of the better defenders we already have with. Fabio is head and shoulders above Malone, Malone thinks he is far better than he actually is. But, back to my original point, why would fans (who we are trying to get back through the gate) part with their hard earned to see our squad get sold off and replaced with new signings who won't play???

Tan is almost certainly asset-stripping and cost-cutting, with a view to a future sell off. If he gives Slade a contract then we'll know this for definite. It will be almost impossible to replace the few class players we've got on a limited budget.

Re: ' Cardiff City's Two Biggest Earners To leave? '

The big problem is that both the named players, plus Macheda, & Dicgacoi are contracted until the end of June 2017, so the club has at least another year left on their wage costs. I can only see some early contract terminations coming up.

Also, would we get back the supposed £5 million we spent on Manga???

OGS signed all these players, & many more remember?

We have gone backwards five or six years as a result! :angry4:

There was no real embargo though !!!

During it we "bought" a kid for a million, loaned a Welsh international, trained at united from the league leaders and another from the European second tier of elite clubs....Don't mind another embargo like that !!
