Now they want people to support them not a chance you sow what you reap. You can have what we had in 2002

I was listening to Radio Wales yesterday. An ex miner from Merthyr text the show and said that in 84 when he and his colleagues were picketing the steel works the coal still went through and they showed no solidarity with them, he ended the text with "What goes around comes around".

well these must be sad pathetic people, willing to see young families lose their houses, livelihoods and have no way to provide for their children! seems a few people have a chip on their shoulders. many of the people losing their jobs were not even born back then. it seems that the older generation have a problem, it would be a different story if they took your pension off you!

Agree how can any9ne be glad of people losing there jobs

He has a point - why make a special case for steel, when coal was let go. The steel people didnt back the mines, about the only people who did were Aslef. Now we import 30Mt a year, whilst sitting on top of billions of tonnes.

The real problem was that, since the 1950's, successive socialist leaning Governments kept borrowing to pay pensions and support British Industry, which would all one day have to stop.

Saying that, we're heading for record debt under Osborne. We will have to accept that our living standards are heading only one way.
