If you're trying to get a taxi from town late in the evening - especially at weekends - you''ll find it near impossible if you have to get to somewhere 'local', ie Cardiff suburbs. The taxi drivers will only take the bigger fares going outside the City.

I contacted the Echo a while ago about this but they didn't think it worthwhile to investigate. A couple of years later following a spate of attacks on girls walking home alone, they did, and approached the Council. The Council did nothing.

99.9% of the drivers are Somalis.

I had an unfortunate incident on Saturday night on Albany Road with my missus, we had gone for food then to Kaspas, flagged a taxi to take us back to Thornhill, he was of Indian or Pakistanian origin, his meter was off, he tried to charge us £20, I laughed at him, he locked doors and said he wouldn't open them till we paid, and he would call a few of his friends to come over, I suggested we step outside the vehicle to have a word, he started calling someone in his language so I kick the door open, missus jumped out, I walked around the cab, pulled him out through the window, chokeslammed him onto the bonnet then locked him in the Masterlock till he passed out.

I won't be using a taxi service again for fear of being killed !

My mate got in a taxi on the rank by the borough Saturday night.He asked the driver(somalian origin) to take him to trowbridge and my mate knew the fare is usually around £14-16.When they got to the bottom of city road my mate noticed his meter was off and pointed this out immediately.The driver said he knew the fare off by heart so no need for the meter but when they got to trowbridge he said that's £25!! My mate said he's not paying that so the driver took off and told my mate he was driving him to a guy he knows, who would f**k him up.My mate gave up and handed him £25 and had to walk back over a mile.These fuckers are destroying the taxi trade,right dangerous lot of con merchants.All somalies, muslims or eastern Europeans-"BE CAREFUL"

I got a taxi from Llandaff to Llanrumney the other week, the meter was on however after telling me he knew where Llanrumney was I spent the next 20 minutes directing him, and he still charged me £15 quid, what worries me most though, is the women out there geting picked up by god knows who !!!

Dangerous and underhand taxi drivers are dangerous and underhand irrespective of their race or religion. Just so happens 99% of them are Muslim.

That's alarming.I don't know if its changed that much but when I was a young man I had a taxi licence for a short time and the knowledge test was not that easy.You had to know just about every road and the shortest route between the pickup and destination.How the f**k this guy got a licence if he was as you say is mystifying to say the least.
