What circumstances ?

Coming into a toxic atmosphere at the club, literally everyone hated the club when he had taken over, PL hangover. Ridding players on high wages, continuous pressure from the media and fans

Because it just is... anyone whos been to the last 6 or 7 home games can attest to the fact the football has been good. As well as a few good performances away from home too. .

Do go 13 games unbeaten at home in this division cant be put down to luck

You make your own luck. I've seen far worse football than the second half of this season at Cardiff and we're climbing the table yet some people are still giving up and blaming luck.

Ryan, Paul didn't understand the point of my question, which was aimed specifically at you (once again) making a comment without expanding or backing it up and Paul's "because it just is" is not really an answer, is it?

I'll ask you again to explain/back up your comment that it is (quote) "nonsense"

I'm not saying you're wrong. I might even agree with it. I just want YOUR reasoning, if that's okay? ;)

Yes you are mad. We should have pissed this league this year. His record in the transfer market is terrible, he has purchased injured players (Saadi) and sent most of his signings out on loan. His tactics are questionable and often one dimensional. His substitutions are often the wrong ones. His interviews are a joke, he's like a retarded humpty dumpty. If we had a more experienced coach we would be heading back to the premier league not hoping for a 6th place like we are at the moment.

He has not inspired or motivated the players, We have a great home record BUT we have dropped so many points at home from winning positions and our record against the bottom teams is a f*cking disgrace.

He has done what Mr Tan has asked with cutting the wage bill but so what, any manager can sell players or loan them out if that is part of the job he has been asked to do.

There is no way that he should get a new contract even if he does get us to the play offs, I'm sure that there are people who will still not buy a cheaper priced season ticket if he is in charge next season. :sladeout:

AfricanBluebird wrote:Hes done OK recently but there are still some huge question marks over his ability to push us on.

He made some great loan signings, when forced to, but his permanent signings have been very poor. He has ignored talented players and it's only in adversity that he seems to get things a little better. Additionally the football we play is still inconsistent and variable.

I would still wait and see.

His permanent signings have been very poor? I mean, okay, you have Doyle, Alex Revell, Tamas, etc... But you look at O'Keefe, Peltier, Malone (To a certain extent). With his financial situation I think he's done superb. Doyle was an expensive risk that didn't pay off. Revell was a passionate workhorse who for whatever reason could never finish but when he did score, scored very good goals, and didn't really have the ability needed in the championship, Okay that's considered a bad signing too I agree. And Tamas who to be fair to Slade, was a free signing who was purely there as back up as we were facing some injuries.

But, you have to be open because a few months ago everyone included OKeefe in the "Bad signings" Category and now look at him, he's having a great run with City and I think we've scored more/won more games with OKeefe than without him lol (Not really but you know what I mean). For what his job is, I think OKeefe is PERFECT...apart from his shooting. 1 Goal in his whole career I believe? Haha.

Anyway, everyone knows Peltier is a solid RB (Most of the time).

Malone can be really really sloppy and maybe because he comes across arrogent alot of fans don't conenct with him or like him very much, but if for better finishing from our midfield/strikers Malone SHOULD have SO MANY more assists than he has, his crosses can be very dangerous and direct. You can't fault his shooting either, 2 goals already, 1 absolute screamer against QPR to single handedly gain us a point.

Don't overreact about his signings being so awful...because compared to most managers...he's done alright...

A more experienced coach?? By this I'm guessing you mean championship experience, as Slade has had over 750 games so pretty experienced. So who do you know would of came to us this season on similar wages to Slade. Knowing little transfer funds available and knowing had to carry on cutting wage bill?

I think someone like Neil Warnock or Nigel Pearson would have put us in a better position than where we are now. I think it is worth paying a little more for the experience to get us up again. I know Slade has a lot of experience in the lower leagues but I don't think he will push us over the line. I hope he proves me wrong of course.

It could be argued that Slade's 'luck' changed when he was forced to play 'Pilks' up front due to other players being sold from under his nose! ;)

In fairness, I think our long unbeaten run cannot simply be 'down to luck' but Slade has managed to tun a few likely victories into draws with some (shall we say) odd substitutions late in games! ;)

So (and here is my point) your one-word ridicule of someone else's opinion needed to be explained fully rather than put out there as fact just because it is your personal opinion! ;)
