So don't travel because you can't slap someone?

What's wrong in still going and getting merry and enjoying the game without looking to slap someone?

Families attend now whereas they were concerned for their safety.

I was joking about the hooligan bit as that hasn't anything to do with attendances as it's all down to cost these days. I only venture as far as London and Cardiff but wouldn't venture any thither north of London as refuse to pay the costs plus I'm still banned because I refuse to sign any papers that the club are asking me too.

I still travel to away games but pick and choose which ones where as the days of the RAMS I would attend almost every away game without fail and I know loads of city fans who do the same. The demise of the RAMS played a huge part in my opinion, because it's not the day out it used to be.

I take it's the Valley Rams?, I met Valley rams at Palace at half time and they were spot on lads and they knew I was Brighton.

I've got Sky now so can watch our games till I fly out to Everest. We've put our prices up for next season whether we're in the prem or championship so pay on the day could be £50. f**k that.

You could ask a thousand people, and they will all give you an excuse why they don't travel away, rebrand, work, money, distance, the list could go on,our away support is bad,we were only taking 1000-1500,when we were top of championship, but I can remember Brentford on boxing day and we had thousands outside without tickets,Scunthorpe where we had three sides of the ground, why has it fallen so badly is a strange one

Going to bump into a lot of these in France and God help them

The same with you and Swansea. I did have Cardiff lads roaring with laughter outside Witherspoons. Cardiff lads were outside have a beer and smoke so joined them and some Palace bloke (40's) was chatting with them and I was nearby and asked Cardiff for a light and we all got chatting and this palace bloke was shaking hands saying palace- Cardiff etc then he put his hand out to me thinking I was Cardiff and turned my back on him. He said hey what's up?, I replied I'm Brighton and here to watch Cardiff you mug and I wouldn't shack your hand even if we were the only people left on earth.

Typical Brighton, really? Yeah. You best do one before you get hurt so he wondered off.

Don't take it personally as it's just some geeks hiding behind their keyboard. I'll be in France and hope to drink with some welsh fans and if we get knocked out (Tournament) then I'll be rooting for the other British sides.

Our numbers are poor, but the fans who turn up at the moment are the real fans and make as much noise as when we we had more numbers with glorys who dont make as much noise.

From Football Casuals

Richard Owen I say well done to them who went. Especially on a Tuesday night! I've done enough night away games following Millwall in my time, so credit where credits due.....

Annis Abrahamii Richard, Cheers, that was my 9th trip to Boro last night and on a Tuesday night a 10hr round(600 miles) is hard work.

Richard Owen I done Boro away last year on a tues night, it almost killed me.... Done loads this season aswel. Think it's about time the F.A done something about it tbh!

Clifford Trewren The idiots that make these pathetic comments probably never leave their armchairs

My Reply
Cheers Diddi, Means a lot from you. And Diddi its 283 miles each way ha ha

When travelling such long distances for evening games you have to take certain things into consideration.
1/ Travelling that far on a Tuesday night most fans need to book at least two days off. And even those that only booked a day will spend 3/4 of the day travelling and then the match to return and have a couple hours sleep before work.
2/ The cost, use of holidays or no pay at all, then it's coach car or the Train and none of those are cheap especially the train. Those that stay over need to take into account hotel fees. And then the match itself, when Boro were charging £32 a ticket that is a disgrace.
Most fans who have family's have to prioritise and many would like to go but just can't afford it. It's the way it is so anyone mocking (unless it's Swansea then it's justified lol) think before you criticise. I just wonder if any of them go to any away matches never mind all of them.
A big up to those that went last night especially those that travelled all day and most of the night

I can guarantee you that the fairies who are slagging only ever travel to convenient games and probably most not at all. I can also guarantee that they only spout their crap whilst behind the safety of a keyboard. Not than I can be arsed but if you clicked onto their timelines you would see patheticness personified. Shitehouses.

You'll get no sympathy from me as I got the piss taken out of me when we took 400 to Sunderland, also on a Tuesday, which was just after Christmas and live on Sky TV.

They do need to look at these midweek fixtures and distances, we are at Spurs Sunday and Arsenal Wednesday

If it's the time I'm thinking of, it was much less than 400. Probably similar to what we took last night. Like I say though, may have been a different match.

Agree it needs to be looked like. I was saying last night at the match that Carlisle had a midweek away game at somewhere like Plymouth or Portsmouth. Common sense needs to prevail.

£32 ticket price didn't help, and that's been covered on another thread.

Boro on a Tuesday night at crazy prices I couldn't care less what others think I am more concerned with our home support. We had good away support at Wolves now at Bristol. But we haven't had a good home attendance in ages

Haven't been to an away match for years so respect to all those who went.i used to love the midweek away games when I was younger but then I could easily get back at 2 to 3 in the morning and get up for work the next day. It would kill me nowadays.
Don't think the numbers are that bad with all things considered.

Re: ' REST OF COUNTRY GIVING CARDIFF FANS STICK TONIGHT '

Thu Feb 25, 2016 6:35 pm

I not worried about what other fans are saying about us we can always point the finger back at certain clubs who never even bothered to turn up at our place on a midweek night the reason they give us borough and leeds on a midweek night was to stop us traveling in big numbers to these fixtures to make sure there was no bother between the sets of fans more so if we where in the top four or six .our support to be fair is still fantastic as far as I'm concerned and the day will come back when we go away again in large numbers :bluescarf:

Boro fan here and one of the 6-700 that made the midweek trip to Cardiff a few months back. All I can say is well done to the Cardiff fans that did turn up. Anybody that does these journeys to support their team in the cold depths of winter deserves some praise. I'm afraid clubs like ours don't have significant enclaves of fans anywhere except home, and possibly London, unlike the so-called big teams.
The only people that should hang their heads in shame are the Football League fixture makers meaning fans have to do these stupid journeys in midweek, and the clubs themselves for pricing visitors out of coming. Not everyone has the luxury of a lie-in the morning after an overnight journey home, and not everyone has the spare 100 quid+ it costs to do so. People should get real.....schedule the games for weekends and charge 20-25 quid tops.....fans will come.
Also, a big thank you to the fans that were there in regards to the Ali Brownlee tributes......respect.

Cheers and Well Said :thumbright: :thumbright: and like you I travelled to your ground in midweek, but its absolute madness by the The FA/Football League to put fixtures like this on a midweek night match, they do not care one bit about the fans.

Good Luck for your remaining fixtures and I hope you go up automatically :thumbright: :thumbright: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
