I thought yesterday was an excellent team performance and, in my opinion, the "crucial" difference between yesterday and the dross we have been watching recently at home games was the tactical set up of the team and the movement of the front 4, in the first half Brighton simply couldn't handle it.

Ralls and O'Keefe put it disciplined performances and it must have been brilliant for both of them to see so much movement, so many options appearing in front of them but you simply cannot understate the influence of Pilkington and Whittingham in that. Whitts in particular is back where he should be playing and the goals are flowing from him again. His first yesterday was sublime, pure class and stroked the ball with the outside of his left foot before Stockdale knew what was happening.Pilkington worked his socks off again and is proving a revelation playing in this forward role.

Immers was also fantastic yesterday and at times seemed to be playing in every position except goalkeeper, what an engine on this guy with good technical ability, movement and an eye for a pass.

We looked like a team who had the shackles of a rigid 4-4-2 taken off and what looked a 4-2-3-1 changing almost to 4-2-4 when we were attacking. Brighton didn't know what hit them.

Well done to every player yesterday, all heroes in my opinion, and to RS and PT because their team set up was inspired.

For the first time that I have seen RS showed he has it in him to be more than a one trick pony.

With all the movement up front we needed footballing intelligence and a safe forward outlet which Whitts provides in droves. This formation follows its natural evolution and ends up a 4231 with sitting midfielders, this doesn't play into Joe's strength especially with Diki on the bench.

Russ said it was a lopsided 433 and it is very fluid, Immers is used and looks good in it, Lawrence is only an attacking option with Whitts adding numbers in the middle when needed, well done Russ 32 games too late! The only genuine 442 player he had was Ralls but with 4 attacking players he needs to be disciplined and sit and that is not his game.

If we are talking about unsung heros, how about unmentioned villians.....Fabio was so poor, yet barely a mention. Peltier and Malone are far better in this set up.

He must play better in the non televised games cos every TV game this season he's been shite.

I hope they bring Peltier in Tuesday or Downing wil have a field day.

I think pelts played in the home game and Downing did nothing all match.
