Revell isn't good enough for championship but is good enough for league 1.
John maybe not quite good enough for the Prem but given he's had a years experience in the Prem the very least he deserved was a chance to show what he can do in the championship. He hasn't been given a chance, not even in the cup games, instead we played journeymen like Revell and Tamas.
It's pathetic and if I had kids in the Cardiff academy I'd be very worried for their future development under a manager like Slade.
Harry kane has 4 separate loan spells away from spurs before they decided he was ready even though he had played for spurs in between. Doesn't that apply to declan too? He's played but he's not quite there yet for us. I think u r mistaking my comments for thinking he's crap but I do think he's good.
I agree these youngsters should have played the cup games as u mentioned.
However, when it comes to league games, are you going to give slade time to blood youngsters? Is anybody going to? The pressure put on managers is ridiculous so why would they risk it? If you think of who tended to blood youngsters the most you'd think of fergie and wenger wouldn't u? The 2 men who would never get sacked. Unfortunately results are wanted here and now and either slade won't risk it or the youngsters genuinely aren't good enough.

I really feel sorry for the young guys, and Declan certainly must feel hard done by. What has RS seen on the trading ground to warrant such a snub.

Wales international defender Declan John has joined Chesterfield on loan from Cardiff City for a month, subject to international clearance being received.
John is a product of Cardiff's academy and made 20 appearances in the Premiership for the Bluebirds.
The 20-year-old, who has won two full caps, will be with the Spireites until March 15.
Manager Danny Wilson is delighted to have signed the player. He said: "He is a very good, hungry player, who is very unfortunate not to be in the Cardiff team at this moment in time. Declan has experience of playing the Premier League, the Championship and League One and we're looking forward to working with him. He'll be coming in and wanting to prove himself and I'm sure he'll be a great addition."

Declan is a real talent and everytime I've seen him play for us and Wales he's been very impressive.
The unfortunate reality is that under pressure managers at any club would prefer to spend money and ague on what they see as a less riskier and proven prospect to preserve their jobs, rather than take the risk of bringing in a talented but comparatively 'unproven' local player.
I've been told from top level coaches that football is a game of 'opinions'.Well, some of those opinions are clearly wrong but so are so many from 'managers' appointed to key positions in many fields. There is so much self-preservation in football circles is evident it would seem, ultimately to the detriment of the sport.
I completely understand the logic as part of professional football especially at the elite levels, even though I completely disagree with it in principle. There is a fairly new term known as 'ghosts' where those let down by the 'systems' many faults re-emerge to eventually play at the level they should have been and rise up. There will be many present and former CCFC Academy players involved with this plus many other clubs and I think as somebody whose son is currently is currently 'in the system', timing is everything. Club loyalty counts for nothing, Money talks, especially and the cream even will eventually rise to the top. Unfortunately, I imagine much of the 'cream' gets curdled by the present shit system.
