Really good news this.

Credit to VT for paying off the debt and credit to Sam for being there when we needed him. Personally I am pleased Sam is staying on as Life President.

This was what was put before the Court

Cardiff City's legal dispute with Langston will be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice.

Former owner Sam Hammam says current backer Vincent Tan and the club are being sued over nearly £6m owed to creditors Langston.

Cardiff want to know the identity of the corporation before paying £5.75m, which was due on 30 January 2015.

The hearing is expected to consist mainly of legal arguments between the two parties ahead of a possible trial.

Hammam - who owned the club from 2000 to 2006 - has been widely seen as Langston's representative.

However, Cardiff's chairman Mehmet Dalman claims Hammam has denied acting for the company.

'Tan should honour guarantee'

In a statement, the Lebanese businessman puts the onus for the outstanding payment on Tan.

"Court proceedings have been issued against Vincent Tan to pay an amount of £5.75 million plus interest," the statement said.

"This amount is due to be paid by the club and Mr Tan legally and personally guaranteed payment in the event of non-payment by the club.

"This amount is the balance due under the settlement agreement with Langston as unfortunately Mr Tan and the club are now in default with the legally agreed payments.

"Legally the demand is from both the club and Mr Tan, but it is for Mr Tan to honour the guarantee he has given or to use his resources to allow the club to pay its debts."

The guy on the board is rather bizarre I think if it's been paid in full what's the point in it, makes no sence. Obviously it was part of the deal as I thought this bloke got kicked off the board weeks ago

Is Sam staying on in his personal capacity, as a "representative" of Langston or in some other capacity?

Always grateful for what he did at the start of his time here but lost all respect for him over the way it ended.

Now that the sorry tale of the club and Langston is over, I would rather see Sam cut all ties with the club.

Sam may not have been Langston ( :laughing6: ) but he was and is so closely linked to them that now that they are gone, he should follow.

Anyone who has put their money where there mouth is deserves a say in the future progression of the club. Both VT and Sam made mistakes. But both VT and Sam - (and a whole host of supporters) - want to see us back in the Premiership.

He can't really do anything, personally I see it as a waste of time in my opinion.

Surely now that Langston have no interest in the club whatsoever he should resign?

Sam Hammam stays on as life President and keeps a Director on the board.

This I find very odd, why if its settled would they keep someone on the board. No doubt this wont be the end of it.

Annis

I am delighted that this long running dispute appears now to have been finally settled ( although that was also thought to have been the case back in 2013).

What I don't understand is , if the matter was settled out of court, why is a judge making an announcement about the deal? Surely all he can say is that the matter was settled out of court, not what the actual deal was. Can you elaborate?

Why does Tan seek to make an issue out of something when there is none?

Did the same with Riddler, Dave Jones, Ole etc and ended up paying them all

Tan himself personally agreed this deal so he had to honour it

Annis.
The claim that Sam will be staying on at the club in some "honorary" capacity at the club and will retain a board representative in the football club subsidiary (can you confirm this to be the case?) suggests that Langston's claim is not being paid in full and that part of the agreed settlement will again be spread over a number of future instalments.Otherwise there wo be no need or right for Sam and his rep. to stay on.Is t your understanding of the position as well?

Keith, I just know for now that he is staying on the board, but in my opinion it's a total waste of time, he can't do anything, No one can really decide other than Tan.
I also just know that a deal was done.
I'm waiting on the Judges speech.

Cardiff City will pay Langston in the region of £5m within 30 days as it emerges Langston is a company run and owned by Sam Hammam
