So Tommy O'Sullivan isn't going to make the grade then ?
So a guy who will be 30 for the first game of next season is coming to our retirement home.
All those who are so excited are thjose who'll moan about our youth not been given a chance.
Pointless.

If Cardiff pull this one off they should be quite pleased with themselves looks a good player

The DJ era wasn't that long ago.
Joe Ralls (22) was our youngest player on Saturday then Malone and Okeefe who are 25 in March !!!.
The average age is old

Immers announcement expected by end of the day
Wales Online understands Lex Immers will complete his six-month loan move to Cardiff City by the end of the day.
The Dutch midfielder has been in Cardiff today for talks over his switch and all that is required is for the necessary paperwork to be completed.

our line up v wolves was
30
29/28/27/24
28/22/24/31
27/24
our bench was
25/23/31/21/24/24/32
gunnarsson is a regualr first teamer (26) Morrison would be in the squad if not injured (25) and we would have signed tony watt (22) if not for ffp
hardly a retirement home is it. especially when you consider that the oldest player in the squad alex revell would have probably left the club if we were able to bring another striker in
Wed Jan 20, 2016 2:38 pm
starting 11 average age - 26.7
18 man squad average age - 26.3
so perfectly normal if you ask me.
and three players who would certinaly have been in that squad if fit/available all 26 or younger bring it down further

Someone actually writing off O'Sullivan because of this?
We clearly need someone who can play behind the striker and has experience if we are going to adopt this new formation. 4-4-1-1.

If he does sign,I wonder who he would replace, I'm assuming he would start on the bench though

Sounds like a brilliant signing if we pull it off. But one can wonder what about O'sullivan? He NEEDS to play. We need to bleed our youth. Yes we are still within sights of the play offs but I would be more than happy for Slade to throw on youngsters.

I still think O'Sullivan needs to venture higher division on loan.. like Deji going from AFC Wimbledon to Gillingham.

To be honest if I was Tommy I'd push to leave. I wouldn't blame if he did as well.

Staggering, absolutely staggering to include Tommy O'Sullivan is brought up.
The guy is talented yes but needs one more loan spell in league one for me.
Wed Jan 20, 2016 4:23 pm
Reports in Netherlands say Cardiff will have to wait until tomorrow to get their man.
Wed Jan 20, 2016 4:24 pm
If We sign him, he should play 'in the hole'. Does this mean that Noddy is finally tired of the big man/little man combo?

But does he? Banging the goals for u 21 Wales and academy. Think of it this way. We need money. Tan wants cardiff makes money. We play our youth, they play well. We sell them (hopefully with a f*cking sell on clause) we make profit.
Or our youngsters play well and we go up.
If neither happens but IF we stay up we save money. Site it's win win.

Making the assumption that using youngsters and we will go up is just highly doubtful.
I just think he could do with a loan spell until the end of this season then come back for pre season and make him more around the first day squad.
We sadly got a lot of players in the central area so it's difficult to throw someone in the deep end with no experience when we have lots of that in that position.

Cardiff City are closing in on the signing of Feyenoord midfielder Lex Immers according to several sources, including Wales Online. It is believed that he will move to the Welsh club on a six-month loan deal, with it potentially being made permanent once their transfer embargo is lifted.
Although they are under a transfer embargo, the Bluebirds are still able to sign up to three new players. Russell Slade is also believed to be chasing a target man striker to replace Kenwyne Jones and another winger. Immers looks set to become their first signing of the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old has fallen out of favour with his club this season, who are managed by former Arsenal, Rangers and Barcelona player Giovanni van Bronckhorst. He has only played six times in the domestic Eredivisie league, with four of those being as a substitute. Since signing from ADO Den Haag in 2012, he was been a regular starter at the heart of their midfield. However he doesn’t look like extending on the 125 appearances and 35 goals which he has accumulated for the club.
His current deal expires at the end of next season but the aim is to sign him until the end of this season and potentially make them permanent over the summer in a cut-price deal.

Ah see. It wasn't as such as an assumption but more as a scenario. Probably a highly unlikely scenario but a scenario nevertheless.

I ain't against it by any means.. I would love it if we blended a younger in or two but right now I think we got enough quality and experience in central midfield which is quite annoying when you know you have a youngster in the ranks who is at that point where he should be breaking in. I think Slade with amount of years he has been in management is just not the guy who would throw in no more than one youngster in a match day squad.
