Need to start bedding in some youth players for once and Fabio for me is the best player this season edging Ralls.

Say we do start bedding in some of our youngsters, how many of them will stay as soon as a bigger team comes in? I'm all for giving youngsters a chance but there's a way of doing it not just slamming them into the first team and hope they do the job, break them in with sub appearances and the cup games if we were still in them and in the meantime don't sell our best players!

If he goes then we are DOOMED!

It is being reported this morning that Burnley are eyeing a swoop for Matt Connolly.

The Daily Mail says Sean Dyche wants Connolly and Danny Batth of Wolves to help shore things up at the back.

Connolly has won promotion with the Bluebirds, QPR, Reading and Watford in recent seasons and Burnley are said to hope he can bring that fortune and know-how to their squad.

UPDATED
LIVE: No Burnley offer for Matt Connolly says #ccfc boss Russell Slade

Sade Says No, no, from my point of view. There are no offers for players I don’t want to lose. There are a couple of younger players who need football over whom we have had enquiries.

This would be a good move for Connolly, would get Burnley a play off place and possible promotion AGAIN :bluebird:

No we cannot get rid of Connolly we don't have any better centre backs at our club and we won't cos Tan won't financially back our manager.

Re: UPDATED ' Matthew Connolly linked to Burnley '

Fri Jan 15, 2016 12:43 pm

Tan must be asset stripping. b*stard. No ambition blah.

Re: UPDATED ' Matthew Connolly linked to Burnley '

Half of you are acting as if we are breaking up a promotion winning team !!!!

They are an expensive "group" that haven't achieved their main goal.

Sell them all (except Ralls ) if we get market value offers. 6 points and we are safe. Blood the youngters, if they don't look better in 20 games time, it may be time to let them go down the leagues.

Tan never gets close to regaining his investment if we are in league 1....

He is a good player but it depends what type of wage he is on to be honest.

After having a bid for Brentford’s James Tarkowski rebuffed, manager Sean Dyche is set to make a move for the 28-year-old Cardiff defender. Burnley have also submitted an offer for Brentford’s Alan Judge in a bid to add to their attacking talent.

Connolly was part of the Watford side who gained promotion last season when he was there on loan, and since joining from Queens Park Rangers in 2012, Connolly has nearly a century of appearances; sitting on 93.

The versatile defender has experience of getting promoted to the Premier League, having got promoted with Brian McDermott’s Reading FC a few seasons ago.

Dyche’s side thrashed MK Dons 5-0 in the midweek fixtures and is looking to push on and carry that form away to Griffin Park where they face Brentford.

Morrison, Manga, Tamas, Peltier, Malone, Fabio, Gunnarson, Whitts , Digkacoi, Macheda. There is enough experience in there to blood 3 or 4 kids.

meaning Connolly, pilkington, Noone, Marshall can go.

Ok experience with some quality about them, tamas is sh*t, macheda by all means is no role model but I'd deffo give one or two a try not a complete overhaul that was suggested
