' Simple Question? '

Why do other teams quietly get on with signing players , yet we havnt managed one signing ?

All I ever read is this club signs etc etc

A bit over dramatic this thread.

Only 28 clubs out of 92 playing in the EPL and EFL have made a permanent signing so far this January totalling 41 signings all together, 13 of which were free. Which means there are over 66% of clubs who haven't made one signing yet.

I really believe that Tan has been advised not to let Slade spend a penny on any more players,with the exception of Watt maybe ? Slade will be gone before this transfer window shuts IMO.

Slade has signed 15/16 players since his arrival and we still have about the same number on loan who are STILL our players. O,Keefe and Doyle cost 750k each and many of the others small fees so Slade has had over 2million to spend in his year with the club, a fair amount by Championship standards with the players we already had? However this manager is not capable of motivating the top players he inherited?

Because other clubs have a structure in place with good scouts and contacts with agents. Then they have either a manager, director of football or transfer committee who decide on players and what they will pay for them......what the hell do we have ????? does the manager decide.....have we got a director of football.....a committee.....and after all that Tan probably has to have the final say. By then the horse has bolted or agents dont even want to bother with us in the first place.

Tan doesn't want to part with cash before we've sold simple as and don't blame him we owe the guy near on £180m yet people still calling for signings the same people who want him out of the club

Slade has signed '16' players in his year and a bit here. That's quite a lot.

Annis, I look at the BBC website every morning and see signing after signing but nothing coming in to Cardiff is concerning.

Why let a manager that's going sign players?

At last I agree rydog!

The board have little faith in Slade so why trust him with buying players? He's either going soon or in the summer.

Then if they don't want Slade(which I know they don't except for Tan), how can they expect us to want him?

I couldn't care less if we signed nobody and sold half the first team as long as it gets tan gone with the money made off transfers. Imo he's getting what he can before bailing and I'm all for that

We have 100% increased debt further I believe it stood at £140m as per last accounts

We just came within FFP limits year just gone which means another loss without a doubt wouldn't be unrealistic to believe we made a substantial loss even though we slashed a lot off the wage bill

The way I look at it you can't have your cake and eat it

No disrespect to Annis but he's as bad as most of the people on here, he's calling for signings off the very man he wants out of the club

Tan has lost interest no doubt but he can't just walk out either so it's continue to balance the books so we aren't losing money every year (which we still are) by selling players and offloading high earners bring in players on far lower wages and youngsters and hopefully get lucky and get promoted

Only other hope we have is tan decidedly to write off the debt and sell us for a reasonable amount and take the hit himself personally which I don't see happening

So for now for me it's just hope we maintain our championship status for the next few seasons whilst building a squad capable of challenging for promotion off a vastly reduced budget
