Reasonable question (I think) Paul, but would you travel in excess of 100 miles with fuel costs plus Severn Bridge charges and traffic problems to support the team every home game?

It's a joke that Slade has two games to save his job. Did anyone really think we'd get promoted this season?
Be grateful we aren't Bolton right now and Slade is starting to balance the books!

Re: " TWO GAMES TO SAVE HIS JOB "

The usual rhetoric from Slade and the club at the start of the season aiming for top 6 has made it this way. We went down the dirty compromise route and its failed as compromises usually do.

Option A - Go for it like 3 years ago

Option B - Drastically reduce salaries aim for mid table

We chose neither, so now I guess option B is the option where we only really need another 10 points from 21 games whilst off loading any prized assets but at market value. I could do that, so we don't the require the toxic to fans Russ any more.

Get through the window and i think we'll hear Vinnys plans. No point in stating what we are doing until the transfer window is over. So I think he is here for another 4 games at least.

Agree, our next 2 games let's face it are unlikely to be anything other than a loss and a draw at best

Get Trollop to look after the team tomorrow, and then review it in time for Rotherham game.

if he is on the cusp of going, just do it.

agree. either he is the right man or not, there is no middle ground for muddling through for a few weeks of uncertainty. thats a decision for the board to make.

Slade isn't balancing the books; he is simply not complaining whilst the outgoings are being reduced by Tan ;)

Have had a great laugh at all the comments, but seriousley we need to get a manager with some enthusiasum, Tim Sherwood has lots and never got a chance to bring in his own players.

Nigel Pearson took leicester to the top.

There are managers out there, Russel Slade has done a great job to steady the ship off the pitch but is out of his depth on it, thank you Russell for all your help but we need more

Get a manager in and not a yes man for Vincent Tan, get manager to bring the fans back like Malkey did

I just don't understand the vehemence with which you attack a guy for saying he is not sure he wants to continue putting himself out after 50+ years of obvious loyal support when the club no longer appear to care about the fans; something I agree is lacking from them after 45+ years of supporting them myself ;)

No of course no guarantee but I just wonder if the logic makes sense. If it meant we got a better manager in, got rid of the deadwood and developed a better team, wouldn't it be worth a couple of defeats? All ifs and buts I accept.

Can't see that it matters if we lose the next few or win them. We are going to be playing Championship football for the rest of the season, and next season as well whatever happens during the next week or so. Sometimes you have to look a bit further than the next couple of games and look at the bigger picture. If a couple of defeats guaranteed long term success, I'd be all for it. Personally, I don't think Slade will be going anywhere for a while whatever happens in our next two games, and with the cost cutting going on here he probably would'nt be replaced with anyone much better. Unfortunately, getting rid of him would'nt guarantee that things would be better, we could end up with Young standing in until the end of the season.
