Vincent Tan has held emergency talks with Russell Slade


Slade's Bluebirds were beaten 1-0 by Shrewsbury on Sunday with the defeat being described as the 'last straw' by a club source.


Last night’s embarrassing 1-0 reverse in the Welsh capital has been described as the ‘last straw’ by a club source and a recommendation has been made to owner Vincent Tan to sack Slade immediately.

It is believed Chairman Mehmet Dalman and Ceo Ken Choo have spoken to owner Vincent Tan.

With the January transfer window now open there is also a reluctance to support the Cardiff manager in any signings made.

Senior sources have pointed to the players he has brought in since taking charge in October 2014 as a major reason for concern.

Tan is the problem slade is Tans man tan wanted him.
Look all we have to do is appoint a tried and tested manager at this level someone the fans have Faith in.
We never believed in slade from the off but we all no he was here to cut the costs players etc. He was never going to have any success was he I feel for slade he's done a good job even if the football is dire.

Not far away from play-offs
Will be given chance to turn things around
Will be given limited help in transfer window
Fans need to rally round and back the team.

It's simple you either back him or sack him

That's my thinking I actually don't mind Slade that much granted he should use the younger players a bit more such as kennedy,John etc... but he hasn't done a bad job and I will always like him and look out for him at his next club. However if what the sources are saying is true and the board has no faith in slade to buy players in the transfer window then rather then let us waste a transfer window which could help us make the playoffs at the end of the season they may as well get rid of Slade now

I just hope and pray to God it happens - the sooner the better!

He's looked out of his depth for a while now, First team tactics and style of play not good enough. He has no idea what to do with the kids in the academy, I wouldn't trust Slade to develop a cold. I think Tan will stick with him until his contract is up and just give him a thank you and all the best in the summer.

Sorry...Russel will be with us untill the end of the season, why would the club sack him now and pay him off when he could leave for nothing in the summer?

Are we sure this is true? Only earlier they said Macheda was set to leave. That we had made a bid for a Championship winger and that we were in talks regardin the targetman but now it's being said he has no money?

It's funny, the thought of Slade being sacked actually fills me with enthusiasm for the next match, a feeling I haven't felt in a long time. He's a nice guy but clearly limited and appointed well above his station. He's cut costs so time to cut him loose now. It really would give the whole place a lift. Won't happen but I'd be thrilled with Nigel Pearson.

I think Slade will eventually lose his job but I don't expect it to happen just yet. Tan will probably deliberate for a few more games and then pull the trigger. If he is going to sack it needs to be now so the new manager has the transfer window to rebuild the squad. My worry is that Tan will react too slowly.

Just read the WOL report and I've gone back to being Glummo again! It says senior staff have recommended Slade's sacking to Tan but he is likely to keep him in charge (with a good ticking off) Ho hum back to the Prozac!
