Cardiff boss Russell Slade: "We made a lot of changes but there are no excuses - I sent out a team with enough ammunition to get a positive result.

"We were a little bit wasteful in front of goal and then we've let ourselves down by not picking up their players in our box and they've scored.

"Our focus shifts on to the league almost immediately but I love the FA Cup and we're disappointed, we wanted to progress.

"Of course I'm prepared to take the criticism, all managers have to take that and the numbers don't lie."

What a pathetic reaction from Slade, I have been a supporter for over 52 years and its the first time I have felt embarrassed being a City fan,it's not just because we lost to lowly Shrewsbury, these things happen in the FA cup,it's the manner in which we lost, no fight no passion, no pride in wearing the blue shirt, felt totally let down by Slade and his team tonight

That team was good enough to win today and they didn't. You can blame the manager for so much but the players are paid to do the job and they didn't. The utter garbage and drivel thrown at Russell Slade is embarrasing at times.

It's Slade's tactics and team selection that is the problem. You see every other team that plays a lower-league side give a few of the promising youngsters a run out as a reward... I would have loved to have seen John, Deji, Kadeem and Kennedy starting tonight, it's a great chance to show what they can do... Instead we see the same old jokers that consistently let the club down and a leeching giant wages from the club... What motivation do they have to be anything to do with CCFC in the next 3 years - Macheda, Tamas, Ameobi, O'Keefe, Dickacoi... Why persist with these no-hopers?

Russell Slade may have "called it as he saw it" but sorry, I could see before the match with that team selection we were doomed to lose. The way some people are talking, it's as if Slade has his hands tied as to what team he can pick and you feel sorry for him... Why feel sorry for the bloke? I don't think I've ever seen a manager blame the players as much as Slade.

I watched revel and macheda in pre season at forest green and thought they were the worstfottballers I'd seen in a city top for a while

I didn't know the team tonight and only caught game after we went 1 down.
