Fact is we consistently played in front of our highest average crowds whilst playing in red. Since relegation the crowds have plummeted and a reversal to blue proved to be a red herring as the crowds continue to fall.
That fact is the fans 'victory' only happened because we were relegated from the Premier League and then made a complete hash of our first attempt to get back.
I'm torn because I'm delighted to be back in blue but it has come at a terrible price as the club seems to be falling apart.
What is needed is for the blame game to stop. Tan made a mistake one which has cost him millions of pounds but hounding the guy for evermore will achieve nothing but more discord at CCFC. Time to put the nonsense behind us and start pushing the club forward.

Gareth, Glory hunters will return for Glory thats Guaranteed.
But we need the hardcore fans to return. I spoke to TLG aka Dave Sugarman and after nearly 40 years of supporting City, due to the Rebrand and he stated Tans name, he has moved on and found new things to do.
I look around me at away games and many many old faces are now no longer going and that hurts and they were the passionate ones.

That is true Annis but Dave stopped going as soon as the rebrand occurred so is not relevant to this debate really. The relevance is on those 8500+ fans who came when we were red last time we were in the championship (under Tan) and 15000 fans who have gone since we were relegated. That is success related and only success will bring them back.
Neil,
Dave and many others stopped, could even be a few thousand, some tried to come back, Ive spoken to dozens upon dozens over the last few years and they don't feel its their club anymore.
We had a good run a few weeks ago, did the fans come back? NO they got less.
It will take more than winning runs, we have been top 6, did they come back? NO
Guaranteed promotion will bring full houses of glory hunters, thats guaranteed.
We need fans now and next season,so the club needs to realise this and do something.
The ones who deserve most credit out of this are those that stopped coming due to their principles when the rebrand occurred or those that kept coming and are still going now.
I am sorry but those that came through (post rebrand) the championship winning season and premiership year then stopped after we got relegated are just reacting to lack of success on the field.
Utter bollocks from someone who doesn't go regularly themself. Long term supporters who have definitely seen more lows than highs over the years have tried to explain to you that success is not an issue, but you seem to have an overwhelming desire to appear superior to others and are very judgemental and opinionated.

Not even close to true. I have been 3 times this season. Annis got me tickets various times in 2009. 2008 and the cup final was when I think the fan base changed as more glory supporters came on board. The atmosphere was affected significantly.
I don't criticise people's reasons for not going apart from the one who said he doesn't go because of selling Brayford. I spoke generally about bull shitters. Bluebird for life said he has been going for 40 years and seen countless bad times. I have been a fan for 24 years so can't comment on 40 but I struggle to believe he hasn't seen worse than is happening now. His point was that he is no longer going because of Tan yet he still went after Tan did the worst of his actions that being the rebrand. He has now stopped going. To me that says it is linked to our lack of success. As I have said the success thing is relative. We are lower than we the heights we reached in one season so it is understandable that people would now stop going. They wouldn't be alone our history is full of spikes in attendance when we are successful and troughs when we are less successful. This topic shows this in detail.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=166339
Again I reiterate there is nothing wrong with this. It is logical for this to occur. What I find annoying is people who say it is due to Tan or Dire football when they went when Malky's hoof ball was in full swing. (Winning hoof ball I might add).
