It is a side of his game that sadly far to many of our fans miss but the reality is that if you look at statistics relating to loss of possession so far this season Ralls has lost possession because of a poor first touch 23 times, with Whitts it's just 8 times, Ralls has been caught in possession 28 times, with Whiits it's just 5.

Every team needs a player who can hold onto the ball especially at times when the team may be out of formation following a break up in play. For us the players who best cope in this situation are Whitts and Dickagchoi and it may require them passing the ball sideways and backwards to get the team back in solid possession. Unfortunately to some of our fans this is unacceptable as they obviously prefer we loss possession easily, in the wrong areas and ultimately concede.

In my opinion it is no accident that since we have lost the Whitts/ Dickgachoi CM partnership we have started leaking goals. As regards the delivery from set pieces since Whitts has been out of the team nothing more needs saying as there is no comparison to the quality he brings with him.

Time for this failed experiment of dropping Whitts to end.

I think the first touch stats and lack of set play goals just highlight that Whitts and Ralls are different players. Yes they are both left footed but it ends there. Ralls is an all round centre midfielder in the traditional sense, Whitts is a highly technical player you don't see in the lower levels. Malky who played basically all his career in the rapidly improving second tier knew these players needed to be enveloped in a system that highlighted their ability whilst hiding their weaknesses.

If Whitts was a growing lad who was filing his frame he wouldn't have been to been allowed to leave, but at 23 he had peaked in a athletically biased league, thus why we had him. Clever adept managers knew what to do with Whitts, Slade just doesn't.

I expect him to go with Ralls / Whitts on Tuesday as I think Ralls or Digkacoi are the only one who can play with Whitts because it's the way to the poor house allowing Gunnar to receive a pass in our own half.

I would rather Whitts not play if its going to be a 442, but i can see Whitts in for Gunnar, Nooney for Ameobi and Mason for Jones. Mind you Forest haven't even played yet and thats a bit unfair.

I would have liked to seen Whitts come off the bench in those home games trying to defend a 2-0 lead, our players were just getting rid of the ball and not keeping possession.Whitts would as least found one of our players and hoofed it anywhere!!!

Supporters got what they wanted now they want him back in the team?

I don't care what anyone says Whittingham still got it.. a player of his ability on the bench is a joke.

He creates chances and usually a lot of them come off with goals.

A month off especially in this weather may pay dividends at the end of the season. He is always shagged by the end of the season with so much depending on him previously

Personally think he can be the key to us winning some games and has done so in the past with the quality he has.
