Totally agree, Ledley is no better than what we currently have and I don't want him anywhere near our club after the way he treated us.

You can't begrudge him leaving to go to another club, especially one that plays in the Champions league regularly.

If Ledley left us for a Premiership team, or to a league higher in standard to allow himself to progress as a footballer, fair enough.

But to leave us for an inferior league giving himself no opportunity to progress as a footballer just to receive an increased pay check, left a bitter taste in my mouth and stopped Ledley from ever being able to improve and accomplish anything at a higher level during his career.

Moving to Celtic was a move filled with financial greed and a complete lack of ambition, whilst also shafting our club financially at the worst possible time. His move came a few months after we spent a small fortune looking after him when paying for his hip operation.

We made Joe Ledley, bringing him through the academy for years and Ledley repaid our club by ditching us for the first lucrative pay check waved in front of him. The thought of Ledley returning to us to 'wind down' his career doesn't sit well with me at all. It's exactly the type of attitude from a player we don't want to bring into our football club. I would much rather us bring in someone hungry who actually cares and wants to do well for us.

Tony Watt's attitude has been a breath of fresh air and we need to be bringing in more players with this attitude. We don't need mercenaries like Ledley who only wish to join us on his terms when it suits him.

He wanted to play in the Champions League and win trophies, playing for Celtic is an upgrade on playing for Cardiff in the Championship in my opinion. The only realistic opportunity he had of Champions league football is playing for Celtic. I certainly do not begrudge him for leaving and wish him all the best, I hope he comes back here too.

Do you honestly think standard wise, playing for Celtic in the SPL is an upgrade to playing for Cardiff in the Championship? Yes, Ledley had Champions League football with Celtic, but after getting knocked out, what's left then?

Career wise, I think it was a massive step backwards for Ledley joining Celtic. I think Ledley would have consistently played at a higher standard if he had either stayed with us, or moved to a club in a higher standard league. I think Ledley would be a much better player now if he made the correct career choices.

I have no problem with any player leaving our club to progress his career. But I don't think Ledley left us for that reason and that's why I think the way he ditched us left a sour taste.

No, but I firmly believe playing for Celtic in the Champions league and winning SPL titles is better than playing for Cardiff City. It's a short career, Ledley had some amazing moments at Celtic including playing at the Nou Camp a few times and beating Barcelona. He also played in the knockout stages of the CL as well.

I'm not denying you can achieve some great moments with Celtic when getting to the knock out stages of the Champions League, but Ledley could have experienced those great moments consistently by moving to play a higher standard of football.

The point I'm making is if Ledley moved straight from ourselves to a mid table Premiership team, he would have consistently been training with better players, got playing with and against better players and those experiences would have made Ledley become a better player himself.

If Ledley continued progressing, I believe he would now be able to command a regular place in a Premiership mid table team. I think moving to Celtic for a big pay cheque to consistently train with and play with and against inferior players didn't help Ledley progress to the heights he perhaps could have.

The way Ledley left our club, his current position not being able to break into the Palace squad and his current attitude thinking he's above dropping down from the Premiership at a crucial stage of his career where he needs to fight for his place in France, makes him exactly not the type of player we need to bring into our squad at this current moment of time.
