#FillTheMacron - Bolton Wanderers fans promise to buy and donate Cardiff match tickets to bolster crowd

WANDERERS fans have vowed to buy and donate matchday tickets to other supporters as part of a #FillTheMacron call to arms.

The Whites desperately need the crowd behind them in the midst of dire problems both on and off the pitch.

Bolton face Cardiff City tomorrow and fans have taken to social media in a bid to attract as large a home gate as possible to hopefully roar Neil Lennon's side to a much-needed victory.

Another fan called Craig said: "I live 4 hours away from The Macron and I'll be there tomorrow... #BWFC #fillthemacron."

BWFC Forum, the account of the fans' forum, tweeted: "This is the time when @OfficialBWFC and all #bwfc fans come together to show the world just what a top club we are #fillthemacron #bargain"

Many fans are optimistic the grassroots #FillTheMacron movement will get people in through the turnstiles and prove the turning point in the club's campaign.

Jonny Eckersley, who writes for online fanzine Lion Of Vienna Suite, said: "I think it's brilliant.

"It shows the power of social media and what can happen when all the fans come together.

"It's not the best time for the club at the moment and instead of getting on the team's back we should be all making an effort and get three points on board because it's a huge game.

"The Championship is a very difficult league to get out of and a few wins can catapult you up the table."

Jonny added: "We can really be the 12th man. I really think it works.

"There's no better feeling than having a crowd behind you.

"Particularly in times of a financial crisis it can't harm if a few more thousand tickets are sold."

Twitter users urged past, present and new Wanderers supporters to buy a seat for today's fixture at a time when four sets of potential investors are eyeing up a takeover of the business that could change the club's fortunes.

Some injected some humour into the social media campaign.

Sam Graber posted: "'All we need is an Arab billionaire' #bwfc #FillTheMacron get down on Saturday and show potential investors how amazing our club is."

Lennon himself realises the mess the club finds itself in could prove to be the catalyst for a reversal in fortunes spurred on from the stands.

He said at the press conference earlier this week: "The fans are very, very proud of the club and something like this can galvanise the town, bring people together.

"People who were maybe a little bit distanced or separated before could come back."

Early team news from Sporting Life:

05/12/2015

Bolton will be without Max Clayton and Mark Davies for Cardiff's visit to the Macron Stadium.

The Sky Bet Championship basement dwellers lost Clayton to a hamstring injury on Monday and could miss him for the remainder of the campaign if he requires surgery.
Meanwhile, midfielder Davies accrued his fifth caution of the season in that fixture against Brentford and will therefore serve a one-game suspension.
Emile Heskey and Dean Moxey (foot) came through a development squad match this week unscathed but Wellington Silva (hamstring) and Zach Clough (shoulder) remain out.

Cardiff defender Fabio could feature for the first time since damaging foot ligaments at Ipswich at the end of October.
The Brazilian full-back was producing the best football of his Cardiff career when he was injured and is set to replace Scott Malone if he proves his fitness.

Loan signing Tony Watt made his Bluebirds debut in the 2-2 home draw with Burnley last weekend and the Charlton man is set to partner Kenwyne Jones in attack again as Cardiff seek their first goal in open play since October 3.
Federico Macheda (back) and Bruno Ecuele Manga (groin) were both on the bench against Burnley following long-term injuries and will be involved in the matchday squad.

Score two goals and we win. Hope Slade released the shackles a little bit and let the players attack.

What a negative bench. Almost as bad as the 3 centre halfs on the bench away to them last year.

Wouldn't call that negative at all. not a fan of Ameobi but he is an attacking player. Mason a striker and Fabio is one of our more attacking wide players.

Confident looking at the 11 as well

He is a defender who runs about a lot and produces very little.

2 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders out of 6 outfield subs

I understand that, but with the options we have available, this is the 18 I would have chosen, don't think we could have done anything more (Maybe Macheda? but he's just come back from Injury)

Had a couple of quid on Ralls first goals, but not sure where the goals are coming from. 0-0 for me

Macheda or Kennedy in for Digi. There's no need for 2 sitting midfielders on the bench.

Better team but would have liked to have seen Kennedy in. Notwithstanding 0-2 City!

Early chance for BWFC as Gary Madine connects with a cross at the far post, but his header is off-target.
