Ned,That's his level and another bad signing by Slade.

Sums it up really. Another of Slade's signings who have been sent away from the club. I know he's not good, but it doesn't look good on Slade. You have to ask are the likes of O'Keefe next? Would not be surprised if this was made permanent in January.

Look at our starting 11 on Saturday:

Marshall - Jones signing
Peltier - Slade signing
Morrison - Solskjaer signing
Connolly - Malky signing
Malone - Slade signing
Noone- Malky signing
Gunnarsson - Malky signing
Ralls - Malky signing
Pilkington - Solskjaer signing
Mason - Malky signing
Jones - Solskjaer signing

That's only two of players that Slade has signed that were in the starting 11. It would be one if Fabio was fit, who was a Solskjaer signing. That team is made up of Malky's and Solskjaer's signings - that's worrying.

Spot on Ned You've certainly showed some facts there .

It doesn't mean Solskjaer is a good manager, just has an eye (and a Budget ) for a good player, same as Malky (although i do think Malky was a good manager with a Budget).

Dave Jones was a good manager with no money, Slade is reaching a similar level albeit with less attractive football.

What would we get if the club gave Slade a decent amount of money to spend?

People are going on about slade using other signings well lets be real here the signings ole made and malky cost money SLADE HAS HAD NONE so what did they expect micracles on a shoe string or big names coming in for big money yet slade has been told to get rid of big earners and more to follow at the end of season weather sold or out of contract, only one who stands out for me is peltier when he signed and hes playing weekly :bluescarf:

People need to chill out and stop using this as a stick to beat Slade with. 175k is peanuts in today's transfer market, I believe he was only signed as cover and to fill in the gaps. Unfortunately he played far too often and is a league one player.

You got to laugh at the hysteria on here.....

I thought it was widely believed that Slade is merely a puppet for Tan and its Tan who make the decisions.......

Between Malky spunking the best part of £7 million on an unknown Scandinavian and Ole's totally bewildering array of random buys we had to cut wildly and savagely. It looked like to me if it had boots it was saleable, the problem their value was nowhere near what we paid or gave them in salaries.

IMO - Revell and Doyle were relatively safe inexpensive back ups in case we could actually get rid of one or all of our existing front line KJ, ALF or Macheda. Sadly, no one else was a daft as us. Remember we only got Kenwynne because of malkys panic buy of Odmwhingie.......

This is a sign that the austerity may be ending soon.

Not really a bad signing though is it? He was a player Slade knew well and a safety signing if you will, a manager always brings in someone he knows to look to. Never had a lot of goals in his locker but I think he's got a good goals return for us considering his opportunities and what he came to us on. Not to mention it was minimal risk, wasn't the fee something like £75k and his wages are under £10k? So I wouldn't say he was a bad signing at all.

More of our development squad really than our academy, Neal Ardley signed him from Farnborough in the 2010/2011 season if I'm correct. Maybe even in 2011. According to his wiki he's been in our youth system since 2010, making his first team debut in 2011.

Doyle and Revell for me were always Div 3 players at best bottom of the Championship players, Slade had made 14 signings and only, max 2 play week in week out, not good at all

But it's more about the attitude of players that he's brought in.
good team players that play for and respect each other and enough cover for all positions for little cost and without the need for keeping the want away players around.

People want Tan to give slade money to buy a striker yet the two he has bought and paid fees for are now both on loan.

Malone and Kennedy his only decent signing in my opinion and Malone isn't first choice with a full squad fit and Kennedy frozen out.

if you were ever to raid league One for a striker, surely the leagues top scorer would be a safe bet!!

Doyle playing off Revell seemed like a great partnership in theory, unfortunately it didn't work. To what cost? Very little.

Doyle and Revell for me were always Div 3 players at best bottom of the Championship players, Slade had made 14 signings and only, max 2 play week in week out, not good at all

And how much money has he had overall?
McAleny was a loan and was playing before he got injured.
Saadi COULD come good, just been unfortunate with injuries.
Kennedy, started well last season but seems bad attitude has seen him lose his spot
Malone has played well this season
O'Keefe, bit of a strange one but done a job when called upon
Ameobi has been decent, tricky player but I'd say a success so far
Revell, minimal risk as mentioned, I'd say not a bad signing.
Doyle - good goal return but needed to be playing week in week out and Mason started off the season well, strange to loan him out but we brought in Saadi.
Peltier - I think he's been a solid success
Ajayi - Nothing more than a DVP signing with a minimal risk, compared to Malky's signing of Maximilano Amodarin
Tamas - played in the PL before and we're currently low on defenders, any injury to our RB or CB and he could come in.
Blaise - Another youth signing
Weymans - a youth signing

So 3 YOUTH signings and two loans. So overall that's ten actual players we've bought in. With Malone, Peltier and Revell featuring regularly.

The reason Doyle and Revell were Div3 to you is because they are, luckily we have Kortrijk and Sarajevo to call upon as well with their scouting network we can look for cheaper buys abroad similar to Saadi. Must have been what? £750k on Doyle? When we could easily recoup that off of Preston. Saadi about the same. So the amount of money Slade has spent is probably the same as what Malky spent in his first season but Malky's squad was higher on wages.

Re: " ONE OF CARDIFF CITY'S MAIN STRIKERS LEAVES THE CLUB "

Wed Nov 11, 2015 7:13 pm

All players Slade has brought in have have been low cost/no cost and lower wages. Is it possible they have all played their part in some degree to shape Slade's playing squad, by bringing experience, character or promise and in some cases pushing established players to perform to hold onto their starting place?

You're not going to get a good strike partnership on £850k in the second division unless they're from abroad and the scouting is exquisite

They have got a good attitude but they are still not good enough at this level, I bet most league one players would have the right attitude to playing for a club in a level way above their playing level

Slade has to play cards with no hand FFS

Revell was a fill in buy in case some daft tw*t bought Alf, Kj or kiko

Revell gave 100% but is not a fire cracker of a striker that Cardiff need
To calm fans who have been deprived of a goal banging striker for some time.

Slades remit is to gently offload while keeping us on this division.
There is two managers worth of dead wood in this squad.

Slade does not have a final say in buying or selling hence is answers when being interviewed.

Can't believe that we cant see that he is the easy fall guy at this club.

Gary Caldwell happy lengthy pursuit of Alex Revell has a fruitful conclusion

Wigan boss Gary Caldwell has revealed he came close to signing Alex Revell in the summer after the Cardiff striker joined the Latics on loan.

Revell has struggled to find his best form for the Bluebirds this season having scored just one goal in 11 appearances for the Sky Bet Championship outfit.

The former Leyton Orient and Rotherham frontman has been on Caldwell's radar for a while as the Latics boss looks to assemble a squad capable of earning promotion from League One.

And after finally securing the 32-year-old's services until January, subject to international clearance, Caldwell hopes it will be worth the wait.

Caldwell told the club's official website: "We're delighted to finally get Alex. He's somebody who I spoke to in the summer and we tried to get a deal done right up until the last few hours of the transfer window, but we couldn't get it over the line then.
"He became available again on Sunday evening and we've worked very hard to get a deal over the line."

Wigan are currently fifth having gone unbeaten in nine League One games but Caldwell admits it is essential he bolsters the squad.

He added: "He brings us a lot of energy, he puts himself about because he's big, strong and physical, and he's been scoring goals throughout his career.

"He's been playing at a higher level with Cardiff in the Championship and he comes in fit and ready to play for us, so he adds great competition to an already talented group of strikers."

Yes - but think of all of the rubbish signings, from Ole in particular, who he has managed to get rid of. If he chooses the best team available, does it matter who signed them in the first place? When you see the high turnover of managers in football these days, most managers must be selecting players signed by their predecessors. And presumably, the previous managers couldn't get the best out of them. This is NOT the time to change the manager - give him to the end of the season. :sladein:
