I think he always looks for a pass forward but as we are so pedestrian with our movement he has no option but to pass back, Whittingham will always try to retain possession than hoof it and hope for the best.
If you look at today's game at the start we were always passing backwards it wasn't until we scored we started to play with a bit more confidence and the team started to play a lot better with more forward passing

i mentioned the other day that i wanted Slade to stay, but learn as he's here, i think i will have a lot more faith in him if Ralls is playing in the middle against Derby. Personally whitts should be on the bench, but if he does play he should probably take Pilkingtons place, with ralls and Gunnersson in the centre.
