Passing sideways or backwards,is the way he always plays. Waiting for some movement in front of him. He hasn't got Campbell, Chopra or Bellamy making runs anymore only Mason ,who is way to slow and always offside .
Whitts has never been the fastest or the hardest tackler, his job is to make things happen, with our strikers at the moment , I'm afraid he has no chance .

I have to agree with most of this.

whitts is not, nor will he ever be a 100mph box to box midfielder.

unfortunately in the current team and shape/ style we play he is always going to look the negative midfielder.

If you actually watch him, his first thought when the ball comes to him is to look up and forward. we just don't have the runners making the right run.

if he started playing the through ball that we all want him to play he will no doubt get slated even more, because we don't have the players to make the right runs and the RIGHT time....

Another great post by someone who sees Whitts as I do and sees what he actually tries to do but can't because of other players not making runs etc etc

Ralls was superb today I will agree but he needs a few more games there for you to justify resting your case

Agree Blu, Whitts was the scapegoat of late but reading certain threads today they're onto Mason now. Cardiff fans love a scapegoat mate. :laughing6:

As well as Ralls played yesterday, and he was very good, without Marshall we could have so easily lost that match. In my opinion the debate about Whitts or Ralls in CM has been going on far to long and we ALL know the answer - it's Joe Ralls.

The question in my opinion is Where do we play Whitts to get the best bout of him? Without doubt Whitts is still our most gifted player and is ahead of any other player in passing accuracy, crossing accuracy, shooting accuracy and above ALL else no other player keeps possession of the ball better than Whitts.

In my opinion Whitts should play wide left and like the Dave Jones days be told to stay in the opponents half, find space and get into areas where his undoubted quality will hurt our opponents. Pilkington should play wide right because whilst Noone is very direct and has a bit of pace there is rarely an end product to his efforts, other than losing possession, and with our lack of pace upfront Whitts and Pilkingtons ability to keep possession, find space and delivery the killer ball puts them both ahead of Noone.

As I have said the question is not Whitts or Ralls but who partners Ralls in CM and more importantly who partners Kenwynne Jones upfront.
