Rydog,

It's a results business and Slade is getting results and for that he should be given credit. He also has produced a team that's hard to break down and does indeed seem to have a good spirit and togetherness.

But I can't agree that he's got any sort of a performance out of the team. It's painful watching this team at the moment - so slow and ponderous in possession, lacking any creativity or cutting edge and most of all, lacking any real pace in the side (Fabio excepted).

Credit to the players and Slade for contimuing to grind out results but my goodness it's not a thing of beauty to watch!

A rare occasion but have to agree with your post but based on tonight's game as I have seen much better football this year, my worry is we are slipping back to last seasons style. What happened to the team that passed hull to death? Well the few changes made a massive difference, but the reports of the last few away games have not been great albeit two draws.

Over the moon with the win, we have a good habit of doing this but our squad maybe not as strong as we think :bluebird:

When you play against one of the divisions best sides playing good football is not an option its a grind its all about result than the style when you come against side like Boro.

The trouble is that when we play against some of the divisions worst sides playing crap football (Preston and Rotherham for example) it's still a grind as we have no other way of playing!

Am full of positives Rydog, you know that and that was a great result tonight great desire. But we were poor tonight, lacked quality and didn't deserve it. Let's not sugar coat it, they were decent enough but we were playing boro not Barcelona and our passing and movement was terrible the total opposite as when we passed hull to death. It is a funny old game. Bring on carrot crunchers

Thats the sign of a good team dont play that well against a decent side but still win and i didnt expect us to play to decent football against Boro but a full committed desire preformance is what i ask for and our Russell and his team delivered do indeed bring on the carrot crunchers. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

A hard working ground out victory but I can see why Noone rarely starts, he is low on confidence which is plain to see but he was so predictable when on the ball!!!
Every time he always cut inside which made the boro players job too easy!! He needs to try and go passed on the outside now and again.

I thought Fabbirini looked really good for Middlesbrough and Nugent was being a nuisance but out defence worked hard, Morrison made a diving header clearance which I thought was vital, had he not got to it Middlesbrough were through on goal with no defenders left. Revell is a work horse but for me he is not a championship player, he was flicking the ball on a lot but I feel Mason is best when the ball is played on the floor into them channels. Over all it was a hard early 3 points from the team.

I agree with nearly everything except that I felt Fabio was way ahead of Noone  :thumbright:

I enjoyed it tonight.

It was an entertaining game and I think the better team won. Neither team were brilliant, but you have to remember that was nowhere near us at full strength.

Very happy with the result, and it's a good result to take into the derby on Monday Night :ayatollah:

Good to see you again tonight Annis :thumbright:

Noone showed flashes of brilliance but he gave the ball away and picked the wrong option, wasn't a contender. For me it was Fabio again, in our first half he was our main threat at creating something. How can that be from full back?

We all dream of a team of Fabios

Positives, really determined and this city side are hard to break down although we did gift them one golden opportunity. We say it time and time again but the obvious lack of pace is restricting us from being a half tidy team, we find ourselves in great positions but then can't surge forward or beyond and it's all held up.

Missed Ralls massively tonight, but I felt towards the end we could pinch it and we did. Poor crowd, fans have simply lost interest :bluebird: :bluescarf:

If Boro had been able to finish, they would of finished us off,but thankfully they never and we stuck at it and got the 3pts :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Noone is low in confidence at the moment as you say, I was not impressed with him last night, he's had far better games.
