Got a lot of time for Sam. When I was younger I met him up at Crewe and he stopped for a photo. I sent a copy to the club asking him to sign it. A couple of weeks (or maybe months) later it dropped through my door with a personal letter of apology for it being late  It made my day. Get well soon Sam all the best.

Annis, I hope you will pass on the best wishes for a full recovery to Sam from the majority on here!

This is certainly not the time for others to be critical of Sam; this is time to simply wish him well :ayatollah:

Chris, I def will, Sam might be getting old, but he is certainly a fighter and messages like these mean a lot to him :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Thanks Annis

Have a good trip to Brighton. Wish I could be there! :ayatollah:

Get well soon Sam. Not his biggest fan but he certainly revived the club when it was on its knees.

Yes get well soon

Wez, I will pass all your messages on to him, he can hardly Spk at the moment and feels weak, but I know he sometimes reads the Forums, it will mean a lot to him :thumbright:

Annis

Sam rang me this morning and he can certainly speak OK :) He just wanted to clarify what has actually happened as a number of people had contacted him concerned about his health.

Sam said that he hasn`t had a major operation at all, but minor (keyhole) surgery to remove his gall bladder as he has been having a lot of pain caused by gall stones recently. He said he is fine now but was feeling groggy when you spoke to him just after the operation which is why he didn't seem so good then.

In typical Sam style , we had a long chat about the merits of the Brighton side along the lines outlined in another thread on here

I had mine out on the Friday before the man city game which we won 3-2. Keyhole surgery. Was meant to be in and out in a day. Unfortunately up I had complications and needed a drain inserted to get rid of excess fluid. Had an overnight stay. Watched man city game at home. Was fine until Campbell put us 2-1 up. Jumped up and screamed like hell. When his 3rd went in I hit the ceiling.
